Aww pretty bed. I’m NOT painting it white 😛 By adding the student desk (has the same stain) it balances out the colours. Plus you can hardly see that much of the bed when it’s made up like this.
The finished bedside hutch. Fresh fluffy towels (2 spare in the cupboard), soft handtowels and thier little soap sits proudly. There is also a little basket of sample sized lotions, washes and hair products. I’ve also added strepsils (nothing more annoying than a guest with a cough), panadol, matches, a pen, make up remover wipes and a small tube of sunscreen. There is a snuggly blue throw folded, ready for use as well as the postcard and the teddy’s my mum made me.
The Hutch, turned into a dresser with my large mirror. I bought that mirror back in 2003 for $35 and it was my first auction win. Its so versitile, I use it everywhere, no matter where we’re living. I have a little alarm clock, tissues, a cut glass box for storing loose jewellery, a little vase for flowers from the garden, a lamp and little blue votives spread around the room for added ambience. The Wardrobe is soooo divine. I love it. Spare pillows and cushions nest on top and a CD Player and a small selection of CDs is there if a guest feels the need for a little chill out time.
The students desk that my mum restored for me years ago, my flashy chair and my revamped bookshelves. So far I believe all the furniture in this room cost $313.00, a bargain as far as I’m concerned and all are great for storage, which I was desperately lacking.

Mum, Stephanie and Josh arrive today around 2:30pm. Dad will arrive sometime tonight. I’m so excited!!! I’m making a lovely chocolate cake with pink buttercream roses. Well thats the plan. For dinner I’m making Lasagna with salad… YUM.
Isn’t it funny, when we lived at home we couldn’t wait to leave or just get away from the parentals. Now when we’re grown ups (or getting there) we can’t wait to see them, get a chance to talk to them… life’s funny.
