I bet you don’t have the key.
The key to what?
The key to knowledge and empowerment.
Where is this key?
The key is a Library card!
I got one last week. I can’t stress enough how fricken cool the library is. I can’t believe I forgot. All those books and resources. Adventures for the imagination. Plus, its FREE… Love it!!! I borrowed a lot of endometriosis books and resources on lap surgeries last week to prepare me for my own surgery. I’m really glad I did. I was a lot calmer because I knew what was going on.
When I got back from surgery I returned the books and borrowed out new ones. Happy “baby planning” ones. Steve came with me. He borrowed out a book designed to help you choose the best baby products and what the think about when buying prams and cots. It’s the CHOICE handbook addressing what met health and safety standards and all that. He read it and now he’s confident and packed full of information.
I borrowed some books about twins, c-sections, home births, birth centres, a DVD by Miriam Stoppard called “Having a Baby” (very cool DVD by the way) and some information on hormone replacement therapies and natural alternatives. I also borrowed the “Book of keeping house” and “The accidental foodie” a cookbook I’ve been meaning to read for awhile.
There was a great variety of cake decorating books I can’t wait to get my hands onto. There was even a book showing me exactly how I could make a rug like this, how cool is that! There were books on furniture upholstering and how to draw anatomy. There was even a book called “how to knit 50 different types of booties”… I’m still in awe.
Now my Library card is my favourite possesion because is gives me hours of endless activity and discovery all for free. Who needs money to occupy thier time… I dont.
