Me and my friend/waiter Matthew, waiting for people to arrive.
My little sister took the pics and at the time I was flustered and annoyed but now these 3 pics are my fave treasures. I love that Dani is pregnant with Effie, the support she gave was priceless. I can see the hard work I put into organising the event. The room’s decor, all the old bits strung up with fisihing line, all those sheets of corrigated iron… and I’d love to have all those bottles back, even the food and wine and all my lovely supportive friends… sigh.
It was an assignment for school. I got the photos enlarged and matted for free from Kodak and a local gallery I can’t remember the name of, the wine and nibbles were donated by our local woolies, the iron sheets and all the old stuff I borrowed from a junk heap on someone’s property. I got the exhibition room for free from the craft council and the town mayor made an opening speach. All the surveys (the assignment part) were filled out and the room was packed.
I’m still so proud and somedays I can’t believe I did that… me! Of course, not without my lovely friends, supportive community and especially Dani. And to think… all I HAD to do was display 4 photos in the High School’s Office. I love that I had the balls to go above and beyond. I got 20/20 by the way 🙂
