These are the only photos I managed to take of the dinner last night. I know, bad blogger. I was so caught up in it all, laughing, cooking, pouring drinks and more laughing. The food was perfect, everyone stuffed themselves to the brim and got very very tipsy. I managed to take this photo just before our first guest walked in the door. I did my hair in the 60’s tease and flick and wore a lovely black and lace dress.
I came in halfway through the night to change the music and Casey and Paula were fascinated with photobooth. So we indulged ourselves with some silly tipsy photos. So while you laugh at our goofiness I’ll tell you a bit about the evening.
Bruce, Casey, Paula and Lucas arrive right on time for dinner. The entree (Tomato and Boccocini dip with Lebanese crisps) went off without a hitch and was definitely a crowd pleaser. The roast was superb but probably left in the oven 10 minutes too long, it was still pink though. The veges were great and Lucas went on and on about the beans. Who knew I had a gift with beans lol.
Even though everyone swore they were too full for dessert, the fruit and cheese platters disappeared quite fast. We served it with a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream. It was fantastic. Everyone was ready to go home by midnight, quite full, happy and drunk. I would definitely call it a success.
Paula stayed the night and this morning I cooked a yummy breakfast of Egg, Bacon and Tomato on toast for us all. It was nice to have a friend just hang out. She didn’t leave til 5 o’clock. She was quite happy to look at our wedding photos, chill out on the internet and play with Toby & Charlie. I wish we had people stay over more often. Anyone want to visit? I’ll make you dinner…
