Steve was reading about local attractions and came across the Shell Museum and thought I’d get a kick out of it… also because admission was only 50 cents each, We’re talking lifetime membership here people. It was so quirky, situated at the front end of someone’s house with a dilapidated sign out the front. I just had to take a photo of us both in front of it. Very seventies, the paisley dress, weird glasses, red brick house and a giant cactus by the sea. Love it.
They had this really creepy dried skeleton display. Yep that’s a shark, a puffer fish, a sea horse and two baby sea turtles. It was so disgusting and kitsch. Totally made the 50c worth it.
I must commend them on their collection though, it was huge, many I’d seen before but some I hadn’t. The crab is huge and creepy but I had to take a photo. I couldn’t leave without buying at least one shell. I keep it in the car to remind me of our trip as I drive ever so slowly to work.
