I blame the heat. It’s making me daydream, of beautiful pools, swaying palms and long island iced teas. It’s made me miss our honeymoon. I stumbled across these photos of our resort last night and just had to post them. Can’t you feel the sun, the humidity, the sea breeze…
We stayed at the Samsara Resort & Spa and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. A lot of the hotels in Bali are party zones, something we didn’t want. Samsara was quiet, somehow isolated yet in the middle of the Kuta. I miss this daybed and pagoda, I spent many hours lounging there by the pool, snuggling my new hubby.
It’s funny as I look back on these pictures and realise we’re trying to capture the same look for the outdoor room. We’re getting there slowly. Today we drove a little out of town to visit Bali Garden. A huge block absolutely filled with Bali imports. The smell of teak, incense and hundreds of carvings, water features and statues. Unfortunately I didn’t think to take my camera… maybe next time.
We didn’t buy much, just the two carved tiles that sit behind the water feature. We really just went to scope out the joint, see what they had and their prices. Once we get a few more larger plants it will look a bit better but for now we’re happy. It’s also nice that Steve and I have an on-going project that we can work together on. Yeah, actually I think thats the best part 🙂
