Today is a public holiday, the sun in shining… and Steve is at work. So I’m left to entertain myself and decide that staying inside stalking eBay is a waste of such a beautiful day. I grab my granny trolley, my Niki, wallet and keys and head out the door for a solo suburban adventure.
A long weekend = junk curbside. People have time to do those extra jobs around the house. I saw 3 different houses putting up pergolas, two burly blokes waxing their Mac Trucks with such love and one guy putting in a cute picket fence. This chair reminded me of Juno… I think I’m going to have to watch that movie again.
Most of the trees have lost their leaves and I still find them beautiful. I love the last few leaves clinging to the tree like baited breath. The wonderful golden crunchy leaves are all over the place and every few days you hear everyone cranking their leaf blowers or you can watch the patient old people raking the grass with care.
I’ve always loved this house. I walk or drive past it almost everyday. It’s simple, suits my style, has a big yard… and sold without even having to go on the market. I wasn’t impressed, actually my heart broke a little. Then again I’m glad it’s no longer available as a house & a baby would just be crazy right now… but if something like this was available in the future I don’t know if I could hold back.
I’ve found a new favourite backdrop. My local Chinese place has this amazing red glazed tile wall with blue bits in the grout. I have a million ideas in my head… one of them is “remember to put on lipstick for self portraits“.
This coffee shop closed down. I love the red painted brick, the bright blue sky, NO ENTRY, One Way and all those bins separated into rubbish and recycling.
South Windsor has a lot of alleys as the original properties are quite large in size and front driveways are almost non existent. The front of the houses are all cottage style, over flowing with flowers, cobble stone paths and pretty porches… I wouldn’t want to park my car out front either with curbside glamour like that.
