It really was great to visit Mum & Dad for the weekend and soak up the family environment. I asked questions about what I was like as a baby and poured through my baby albums and found this little gem of me when I was about 10. We were at Brisbane Airport and friends came to see us during our wait and bought their kids along. I love how comfortable I look holding the little blue snuggly bundle and the little yellow duck by my side. There were a LOT of photos of me holding/playing with/changing babies in my old photo albums as Mum was a home childcarer.
The party was only small but that’s what I think made it sweeter. Danielle and Ron came with the kids but couldn’t stay too long. I didn’t even realise until I uploaded this photo that we’re wearing very similar outfits lol. Also, I must say that lot of the photos are on Mum’s little point and click as everyone was too afraid to pick up and use my Niki, hopefully she’ll email me them very soon.
Here’s a funny pic of me and my godkids: Jordan-Lee, Tyron & Zaylan. It’s awkward and brilliant all at the same time. I haven’t seen them in months so it was great to sneak a few kisses and cuddles while I had them at arms reach. Zaylan also did the cutest thing… He came up to me and whispered quietly “What’s in there?” while pointing to my belly. I giggled and said “There’s a baby boy in there” and his reply was “ohhhh” and gave me a little grin. I’m glad he didn’t just think I’d packed on a few pounds, bless his heart.
We didn’t play any baby shower games but my awesome mum arranged a surprise… bib decorating! Dad dragged the men folk off for a drive, apparently went and watched whales off in the distance. Meanwhile the girls got in touch with their creative sides and made a few masterpieces for Little Mezza. Very fun!
This is my cousins Amiee & Kristy and my Aunty Betty, Mum’s sister. Amiee and Kristy both have little boys of their own and announced during the shower that they too were pregnant! Amiee found out 2 weeks ago and Kristy only found out 2 DAYS ago. They’re both hoping for a little girl this time around. It’s so cool that they’re sisters and will be able to go through the journey together.
This is Lachlan (Amiee’s son) and little Lincoln (Kristy’s son). Linky & Locky. Two bright and fun little boys. It was great to finally meet them.
Here’s our creations and I must say I’m very proud of our efforts. Mum and Dad pitched in for LM’s BumGenius nappies so as a baby shower gift Mum bought a million different bibs collected over several months from different places, a bag of pegs and this nifty colapsable drying rack which just so happens to fit perfectly in the bathroom as it’s so compact.
I made this one on behalf of Steve…
The shower was great and the food was yummy. Mum made Lasagne and Potato Bake, plus we had dips and carrots, tiny cupcakes, strawberry and marshmallows on toothpicks and of course “Little Boys” and tomato sauce. We recieved some lovely gifts which I’ll share in a later post. The house was supremely decorated by Dad and Steve and it just looked beautiful. Steve told them to save all the decorations for the next boy… I told him to wait until this one’s out first lol.
