My lovely sister bought me the one thing I coveted for the nursery but couldn’t seem to get my hands on… an alligator clip mobile. Wherever I looked they were sold out but Stephanie found one, bought it and shipped it down to me. I really wanted a mobile hanging over the change table but I didn’t want anything too bulky. This is perfect as you barely even notice it hanging there and doesn’t clash at all with the room.
I hung it using a trusty 3M hook and some invisible sewing thread. My original plan for the graphics was black and white photos of family members faces but then it was just too hard and used my back up plan instead. A couple of years ago Canadian artist Kal Barteski designed some beautiful animal contrast graphics to use in her first nursery and let her blog readers download them for free and I was one of them.
I picked my 6 favourite animal graphics (Koala, Penguin, Dog, Hedgehog, Monkey & Duck) and made another 4 general graphics (using Picnik) to fill all 10 clips. I printed them out on my computer using white card stock and added a tab to the back of each so the clips would attach with the graphic facing down. Very simple and very easy to change as LM grows up. This is the view he’ll get while I’m changing his bum a million times a day. The graphics just bounce and float around and even Steve was hypnotised. Thanks Steph for finding my mobile 🙂
