Mum is staying with us for several weeks to help out with our lovely newborn and I’m really looking forward to it, even Steve feels better knowing he can go back to work without too much worry. Mum is a qualified child carer and has looked after newborns and infants for as long as I can remember. She’ll be able to teach me things I couldn’t learn over the phone and it’s nice to know I’ve got accredited back up lol.
Dad is equally excited about Little Mez. I don’t think he has ever called to check up on me this often in my whole life. He loves to hug my bump and always pretends that LM has kicked him really hard, it’s too sweet. I’m really keen to see my Dad as a Grandpa, it’s a completely different side of him that I haven’t seen in a very long time. Put Aunty Steph, Grandma and Grandpa in a room with Little Mezza and the poor kid doesn’t have a chance, he’ll be spoilt rotten!
My Grandparents (Grandma & Poppy – Dad’s side) live just out of Newy and plan on driving down to visit us in hospital after he makes his grand entrance. Little Mezza will be their very first Great Grandchild and I know without a doubt there will be happy tears all over the place. We’ve promised to take a week or two off to spend Christmas with them as well as on the coast with my parents. Stephanie will be traveling all over Europe over Christmas, making her time with us now really special and important.
Family really is on the forefront of my thoughts lately and it’s not surprising considering we’re about to create our very own little unit…
