It’s pretty bad when you’ve just had a c-section, learning to breast feed, haven’t had lunch yet and in desperate need of a nap… that I make my way down to the hospital internet cafe with baby and Steve in tow… to blog.
Aidan Ryan Melnyczenko was born via c-section at 7:42 am on Tuesday the 25th of August. We had planned inducement with my Ob for Thursday but due to blood pressure complications, swelling and other factors, I was admitted to hospital on Monday afternoon with an overnight stay in preparation for Tuesday’s surgery. Lots of tears, hugs and deep and meaningful conversations with another pre-eclamptic patient (shared room) and the next day we had our son.
The surgery went well and I’m happy to report I was up and about as soon as that nasty catheter was taken away. Our son is a healthy pink 6 pounds, 11.5 ounces and really is quite serene and calm. He has lovely hair just like his Dad and he has my lips. He has all 10 fingers and toes and I can’t wait to share pictures but unfortunately my lovely Mac is at home and I’m stuck utilising the public internet system. You’ll just have to wait with baited breath but I will say there will be PLENTY of pics once we return home in a few days. I’ve had to charge the camera batteries twice… and it’s only day 3!!!
Thank you Stephanie for posting my sneaky Bump Pix taken just over 12 hours prior to his birth. Thank you to Dani for sharing the news for my readers and Thank YOU for all your kind thoughts and well wishes. Right, well I’m off to find food and a quiet place to curl up and pass out… oxox
