My friend Rhi (who I met through my blog) has a baby boy named Carter who is only a few weeks older than Aidan. Not only has she been a great support but also introduced me to The Woombie. We’ve wrapped Aidan since birth but Steve had a bit of difficulty with it and as the weeks went by Aidan started breaking out of mine too. The Woombie answered our wishes for a simpler bedtime routine. Basically it’s a cotton jersey sack with a zipper, that’s the best way to describe it I guess. Lay The Woombie down flat, put baby on top and then pop his feet in the bottom.
Then zip him up in his snuggly cocoon. He doesn’t need additional blankets or sheets, just his Woombie, a singlet and nappy in warm weather and if it’s a bit cooler I dress him in a wondersuit then pop him in his Woombie. He actually smiles when we say “Wantcha Woombie?”
I love that he feels secure, has freedom to move but his hands are away from his face. As you can tell from the last picture he really does love his Woombie. Steve loves the simplicity and I’m just happy that everyone is happy. I bought one lime and one blue to start with but I’m going to buy another 2 more as I totally underestimated the frequency of pee and spew accidents. He’s used them for a week now and a few mothers from my mothers group have asked me to review the product for them tomorrow during our meeting. I gave it 5 stars which is why I’m sharing it on my blog.
The last photo is for my sister Stephanie. She bought Aidan the toy caterpillar which has a ruler on the back so she could track how big he’s getting… isn’t that the sweetest!
