We had pre-dinner drinks at the Sebel Hawkesbury and then we jumped into a white limo and a fancy BMW and drove into the city. We dined at Quadrant Restaurant at the Sebel Quay Grand in our own private room. We had a gorgeous 3 course meal and drank beautiful wines and sipped on Chandon. As a gift we each received a bottle of Moet and I can’t wait to crack it open over Christmas. I allowed myself one glass as I still had to feed Aidan when I got home. I’ve since bought Milkscreen to keep me covered over the silly season. After dinner fireworks went off at Luna Park for a Christmas concert and everyone rushed outside and stared at the pretty lights and hugged thier loved ones. A very happy coincidence.
Friday night was awesome. I’d been waiting for it all year. Steve’s work Christmas dinner, and this is what it was like last year. It’s always a very posh affair but as always I’d left picking an outfit until the last second. Thankfully my friend Casey had a gorgeous silky maxi dress (City Chic) and blue bolero that I could borrow. I made a hair appointment and Lou made me all pretty and insisted he style my hair. One side kind of sweeps to the other with a million bobby pins and lots of GHD curls. Steve said it looked great so that’s all I cared about.
We’d left Aidan at home with Grandma and a fridge full of breastmilk. We left at 6pm and he was asleep by 7:30pm and didn’t make a peep until 1:30am. We got home at 11pm and we were so very proud of our little man… and ourselves as we only called once to check in. It was a lovely night and it was great that Steve and I got dressed up but we still missed him like crazy. All I wanted to do was poke him when we got home so he’d give me one of those heart warming smiles but I was good and let him sleep. I did take more photos but they’re all blurry as I wasn’t really in the mood. I’m glad Grandma took these before we left although, it felt like we were going to Prom lol.
