My Place & Yours

I must have the most boring keyring on the planet. There is my car key, my house key, shed key, a bottle opener that I have only used once and my Aldi Shopping Trolley Token. I hate having lots of junk on my keyring as it makes it hard to find anything and I hate dangly keyrings as they tickle my knee when I'm driving. So to make my keys look more interesting I put them on some pretty paper. Enjoy! This weeks MPAY theme is: Keyring. Play along {here} ... [ Discover More ]

Weekend Nomads

On Saturday Steve and I took Aidan to the Caravan & Camping Expo held in Rosehill. It was massive and took us over 5 hours to get through it all. I wasn't as keen as Steve to go but I bundled Aidan up, along with all his stuff and off we went. As soon as we got there I was enjoying it as much as Steve. We always joked that when the kids left home we'd travel around Australia with our trusty caravan, but walking around that expo we realised we wouldn't have to wait that long, in fact it might ... Hawkesbury Show

When I was growing up the Katherine Show (in my hometown) was always on around my birthday. It was something I looked forward to every year and I was happy to pass over my birthday money to the carnies in exchange for rides, Dagwood dogs and overpriced show bags filled with plastic crap wonderful toys.Since we moved away from Katherine I haven't been to a show... not in 6 years! This year I was determined to go and take Aidan with me. I tried in vain to convince Steve to join me and instead took ... [ Discover More ]

Mittens

I love Autumn, it's by far my favourite season. I love the way the leaves change, the way the breeze is fresh and crisp on my cheeks but the sun still shines down warmly. I get to wear cardigans and Aidan gets to wear mittens and beanies.I picked up this set from Best&Less for $9 and I was pretty happy that it wasn't covered in racing cars, emergency vehicles or skulls like most little boy clothes they have. Naturally I loved the blue, grey and orange combination and even though I knew ... [ Discover More ]

Giveaway – Hummingbirds Song Blocks

That custom order has since lead to more sales and now Rhian has set up her own store to sell her art. Rhian makes large decorative wooden blocks which can be customised to a particular name or word and you can even match the colours to your homes decor. She also paints the sweetest original Alphabet Paintings. One of my lucky ... [ Discover More ]

My First Feature!

Screen shot of Calico & Co.This morning I opened my inbox to see an email from Amanada from Calico&Co. letting me know that my "Green Apple" print was featured on her blog. I was so excited. I'm usually the one who shows off other peoples goodies but it was my turn. I haven't felt this proud of myself in awhile. Giveaway – 4 Years of Bliss

It all started because I was too slack to email photos to friends. Dani introduced me to the world of blogging and we were both hooked. We blogged about anything and everything. Back then the only readers we had were our families and close friends and we had to explain what a blog was. Yep, we were bloggers before it was cool. Nowadays it's more than just a place to post happy snaps and dribble on about our lives, it's a place of creativity, a way of meeting new people and a space to escape too ... [ Discover More ]

Beep Beep

Aidan is the proud owner of his first car.Sure there are no airbags, no engine, no windows and no seatbelt, but he looks cool driving it so that's all that matters to a boy.I thought he'd be too tiny for it. That it might freak him out but in all honestly he loved it. Especially when I pushed him (sloooowly) up and down the driveway.Within seconds he figured out the horn and was turning the ignition. The best thing about his car...... was that it was FREE! A lady a few houses down was clearing ... [ Discover More ]

My Place & Yours

This weeks theme is "Where do you Blog?". I like to keep my desk nice and organised so every night I tidy it as everything has it's place. I got the desk custom made and I love it. It's nice and long as I like to spread out but also shallow in width so I can't cram too much stuff on it. My chair is from Officeworks and was my birthday present a couple of years ago. I have a few etsy prints on my wall and my pin board inspires me.There used to be a guest bed where Aidan is playing but it broke ... [ Discover More ]

Three for Me

"Air" by Suck My LollySometimes I forget to breathe, I know it sounds stupid but it's true. I'm a worrier, a stress-head and I can't seem to change that about myself. Maybe it's the cancerian in me, I care too much. I get so into my thoughts, my brow furrows and I feel a little dizzy and then I remember to breathe. I did a BodyBalance class on Friday and whilst it totally kicked my ass (thanks for reminding me I have no core strength whatsoever!!!) I really enjoyed the 5 minute meditation at the ... Refreshed

I'm happy to present the new and improved "Danimezza" after a hard week of learning HTML, googling hundreds of tutorials and giving my tablet a serious work out... all with a baby on my lap. There are a few small things I have yet to do like reorganising my labels but that will be a horrid job so I'm putting it on the back burner. Until then "ReNew & ReUse" and "Crafty Creations" links in my left sidebar wont work as I have too many posts spread out over too many different labels.Hopefully ... [ Discover More ]

Our Front Lawn

On a whim yesterday, I pulled out the picnic blanket, threw it out onto the front lawn and plonked the baby on it. Let's just say we both needed some fresh air.I didn't leave him there of course, I joined him with my chicken salad roll and latest copy of Real Living magazine... I love subscribing!I didn't think ahead and only had my iPhone handy. The light was so good I finally managed to snap a photo of Aidan's toothy pegs. He only has two at the moment and it makes me think of this blog, it's ... [ Discover More ]

My Place & Yours

This week's theme is "What do you see when you walk through your front door? We're renting and the entry to the house is a bit bizarre. With the way the fences are laid out we have to enter through the laundry. Otherwise we have to go through the "front" door which is in the dogs part of the backyard. It bothers me to no end. So whenever anyone comes by I have to make sure the laundry is spotless because it's the very first thing you see. Especially since Aidan uses modern cloth nappies and ... [ Discover More ]
