Jess Chalker Live *Giveaway*

A few weeks ago I read a small piece in the Sunday paper about a singer/songwriter named Jess Chalker. Apparently she's famous on YouTube but I'd never heard of her so I checked out her videos. An hour later (and way too much data download) I emailed Jess and asked to review her EP Launch at The Basement in Sydney. I don't know why I did, I just went for it. She actually emailed me back and agreed!!! Yep, I squealed when I saw my inbox. So last Wednesday morning I woke up and my stomach ... [ Discover More ]

I got a fringe…

... I think I hate it.It's not right. I feel like an emo. It gets in my eyes. It's not the fringe I imagined. All I do is pin it back. If I have it out I need to use hairspray to make it look decent. I hate hairspray. When I got it done I was rushing. I was too vauge. Lou is great, wasn't his fault. This is what I told him I wanted. I just got the style of fringe wrong. It's not a big deal, wont take long to grow out and it looks awesome curly but when it's straight I feel like I'm wearing a ... [ Discover More ]

Back on your Bike

My head is reeling. I constantly feel like I'm forgetting something and it seems that 60% of the time I am. Being unorganised bothers me, I mean it really, really bothers me. To the point where I get so flustered all I want to do is stomp my feet and cry a little... I like to think I'm honest enough on my blog to admit that I actually have done that in the last week, I know, how mature.I'm a control freak. I like things to go my way. I multitask and like my day to work out a particular way. Some ... [ Discover More ]

City Chic Fashion Show

The gorgeous staff and models: Georgette (RM), Alicia, Elise (SM), Leah (S), Kylie, Sarah, Pippa & Sara.On Saturday I ventured out to Rouse Hill to watch City Chic's fashion show. I used to go to Penrith for my CC fix but the girls (Elise & Leah) are so nice, I go there now and love having a chat and playing with clothes, you know, when I don't have a sookibaby in tow. I decided to take my camera along and I'm so glad I did... Kylie Ombre Sunray Pleat Maxi $149.95Alicia Graffiti Love ... [ Discover More ]

Proudly brought to you by today’s traffic jam…

Aidan's had a fever the last two nights, getting up to 39.2 degrees, just enough to make me worry but not enough to warrant going to hospital. I took him to the doctors yesterday and she said nothing was wrong, heart and lungs looked good, just give panadol and monitor him, if he got a fever again to bring him back in. He did, so I did and that's where I'm driving home from. Today the doctor found he had the beginnings of an inflamed throat so armed with some antibiotics we were headed home for ... Lust Have – Faith21

Since my post about STYD magazine I've made lots of new fashionable friends who I'll share with you soon enough. That post seems to have been a turning point for me and the last couple of days I've been window shopping online at all the plus size stores I never knew existed, like Faith21 which I feature below. I'm going to share a few of my favourite things from each store in a post every once in awhile. The best part about this set is I could actually wear everything! I haven't made an outfit ... Keeping Kinekted

Steve chose not to have a wedding ring and I was fine with his decision as I think jewelery is quite personal. My Dad doesn't have one so it wasn't like it was a foreign concept. But as the years have gone on I think he's changed his mind. I think he wishes he could go back in time and buy a special token which would forever remind him, even in those quiet moments in solitude, that he's adored. When I was contacted by the lovely people at Kinekt Design about doing a review on my blog about their ... Mummas Munching

Some of the Hawkesbury Mums & Bubs As you know, after I had Aidan I felt quite isolated socially and I even made Playdate Cards in the hopes of meeting a few people worth giving them too. It's safe to say that I did and gosh... they are the best group of women! We started meeting weekly and at one stage there were 18 Mums in the group. It happened naturally that the group split up into two and now we have a great number of women who really support one another and share their stories and ... [ Discover More ]

The Boy, The Quilt & The Ball

I finally finished the quilt I started back in February. It's nothing worth framing but I know the baby I have (and babies I hope to have in the future will) think it's worth all the effort I put in. All the pretty patterns and colours to stare at and all the textured stitches so fun to touch. I love that it also reminds me of my childhood book.I dragged Aidan out onto the lawn for a little mini "I'm proud of my efforts" photoshoot. It was nice to be outside in the sunshine and watch my son ... [ Discover More ]

Bloggers Without Makeup

Chantelle inspires me, especially with posts like the one she wrote today. I'm jumping on the bandwagon and embracing the me... the everyday & mundane me. I took a tonne of photos and this was the only one I was happy sharing. Thats where my head is at the moment, I'm not happy with myself and not only am I hiding in this photo but I'm also hiding in life. Don't get me wrong, that mindset is changing but it wont happen overnight. I don't wear a lot of makeup. I like some mascara, a lipstain ... [ Discover More ]

Hawkesbury Harvest

The Hawkesbury Harvest Market is on once a month and I heard about it from Liss (Frills in the Hills) so I decided to go along. Turns out I'd been before, it just coincided with the Richmond Markets last time as I thought it was all one market, not two. Anyway... as you can see I got lots of yummy goodness but I'll have to remember to take more cash and a spare pair of hands next time. I did take my camera and I did take some ok photos but soon after arriving my hands were so full I couldn't ... [ Discover More ]

Shop Til You Drop

I bought all the issues up until I was pregnant and traded it in for Practical Parenting and Mother & Baby magazines. When I was nesting I got rid of all my old issues (idiot) and now that I've got my boobs back to normal, I'm going to the gym and contemplating a new 'do' I found myself flicking through the pages of STYD... and what an issue to pick up! It was all about body image and the impact that the plus size body issue is having on fashion at the moment. There were some great articles ... [ Discover More ]

Soup for the Soul

I 've probably mentioned it a million times already but I love love love Autumn. The change of the leaves, the crisp air, wearing layers and the most perfect magical light for taking photographs. Everything seems to take on a golden glow. I've been in the kitchen a lot lately as all my favourite vegetables are in season (another reason to love Autumn) and the slow cooker has gotten a real workout. I've found Donna Hay so inspiring (as always) and I'm loving taste and recipefinder, not to mention ... [ Discover More ]

Happy Mothers Day

This is my very first Mothers Day. Steve bought me chocolates and a gift basket last year when I was pregnant but this is my first real Mothers Day and to be quite honest I feel like I should be honoured at Town Hall with a Certificate of Congratulations bestowed upon me by the Mayor. To some that mind sound a little over the top but the last 6 years have been hell for my mind, body and spirit. My gorgeous kid came at a cost. I have unseen scars. Infertility wasn't kind to me. I have bared ... [ Discover More ]

Potty Time

As some of you might remember I started practicing Elimination Communication (EC) with Aidan when he was about 2 months old. I never considered practicing full time but when the timing was right and we were both relaxed we brought the potty out.I only lasted 2 months before even practicing part time became tedious. Aidan wasn't sleeping so everyone was tired, Steve and I weren't perfect and it just seemed like another chore to add to the list. Watching constantly for signs was exhausting ... [ Discover More ]
