Bouncy Babe

I was given a Fisher-Price Precious Planet Playtime Bouncer to review last week and since I’d never bought Aidan a fancy bouncer I thought we’d give it a try. When I received the box I was surprised by how nice it looked and how quick it was to put together.
Aidan climbed into it straight away and was happy to watch The Wiggles in comfort. Thankfully it has a removable toy bar so I could easily get him in and out of it, he’s so tall now. The adjustable 3 point harness was good too and soft around his legs.
The first thing that attracted me to the bouncer was how it looked. I like that the colours are subtle and go really nicely with my decor, not to mention the cover is machine washable. The animal graphics are too cute and Aidan especially loves the lion, he pats it and turns to me and says RAHH!
When you pull on the bananas lovely music plays and it even vibrates. Aidan’s bouncer from when he was a newborn was very simple and didn’t have all the bells and whistles. It didn’t play music and it didn’t vibrate… I can’t help thinking how much more entertained he would have been if he had this earlier.
It’s really lightweight so I was worried he’d fall over when he stood and played with the toys but it was really stable. It took 5 minutes to put together without the need for instructions. I’m sure that if I’m lucky enough to have another child they would enjoy it even more… that’s if Aidan let them!

What sort of bouncer do/did you use for your child?

Hey hun

We have a bouncer with NO bells and whistles. We basically use this one to take outside with us when we have a "visitor" of the small human variety.

I also invested in a rocker. I have no idea what brand it is – it was from Kmart though and was on special for $138 (They are on special now at the toy sales for $99 arrrgh!). This is SERIOUSLY the best thing ever!

If anyone is going to spend a lot of money on a bouncer – I suggest they spend it on a rocker instead!

I agree with you – The colours are great aren't they!!

I love their bouncers. Bella was still using hers until her 2nd birthday. She still would be using it now if we hadn't hidden it.

I've seen these in the shops, their very cute. If only you had a lovely pregnant friend to give it to.

Just realised his outfit matches too. Very cute. Is that the blanket you made on the floor?

I have to admit we've had quite a few bouncers/rockers/swings in the last 5 years. I think no matter what you have you always find new and more practical things, I know I am and Jack's 5!

Nicky – I have a rocker too and it was good in the early days when we wanted to eat dinner. The bouncer I bought was from the op shop, a vintage netting one like I had when I was younger, perfect for keeping him upright and happy.

Victoria – wow 2, would make the cost worthwhile :)

Dani – hmm yeah if only I knew someone who would want to buy it :) Steve bought the jumpsuit from the states back in Janurary, I love it but it's too cold to wear it out so I'm going to turn it into a tshirt so he gets more wear out of it.

Kate – god I can only imagine. I've packed the bouncer away for the next baby.
