Be Bold, Be Beautiful

Today, instead of having the nap with Aidan I so desperately needed, I decided to dress up, head outside and take a few photos... I needed a pick-me-up.Yup, I even put make up on. I bought a huge stash of Benefit cosmetics when I was in Bondi and honestly every single item was an investment. I'm not even wearing foundation! Oh and I'm also sporting my new Op Shop find, an $8 mustard yellow necklace... I adore it *swoon* I'm no stranger to making fun of myself and had a grand old time ... [ Discover More ]

World Away

{image}I've been glued to my computers (yes, I said computers, I'm hardcore) lately and not just to do fun things like read blogs or shop online, but to build my website.I know new websites are built everyday but for me this is a huge moment. As I prepare myself for the launch I really do begin to feel like an astronaut. Limited air to breathe, little company and getting in a big rocket full of What If's, essentially strapped to something that could explode at any moment but could also be ... [ Discover More ]

Snip Snip

Last week we took Aidan to have his hair cut by Lou. His hair grows so long so fast and whilst I'm tempted to see how he would look with shaggy long locks I just couldn't bring myself to do it. He's a short back and sides kind of kid.I love how grown up he looks, my little dude. ... [ Discover More ]

Baby Doll

I went to the Op Shop earlier this week and I just had to share the little gem I found... and for only $12! It's the sweetest little dolls pram, the prefect size for a newborn photo shoot. I plan on cleaning it up and replacing the black fabric, giving it a softer look. I'll be sure to post Before & After photos when I do. Oh, how I love it so! ... [ Discover More ]

Chit Chat, Tip Tap

{image} Sometimes I can be inspired in the strangest of places, for me this week it was on Twitter. There's been lots of talk about upcoming blogging workshops and conferences and just a general clatter about finally meeting some of our favourite writers. It got me thinking about online friendships... How they begin, how they form and how those special few become truly treasured beings in our lives. I started my blog to keep in touch with the friends I already had who lived interstate and over ... Aidan’s Room

I thought I might share how Aidan's room has changed as he's grown older. I can hardly call it a nursery now, he's just too big and boisterous. This lovely piece of cross stitch that my mum made hangs on his door, it's terribly sweet. This is the view of his room from the door. The rug is new and from Aldi of all places. It was the perfect shade of teal to match the curtains and it's made playtime a lot more comfortable for both of us. He has a toy box shelf now and a matching miniature table and ... Thrifty Finds

While Aidan was having a nap I left him under the watchful eye of his grandma and snuck off to the Op Shop. I've been having withdrawals as I haven't been in so long. When I arrived I was greeted with so much bounty. A pair of silver candle sticks for $12, a silver raised bowl for $8, a cut glass bowl to match one I already own for $3 and a cut crystal divided serving dish for $2. All the silver needed was a bit of a polish and it looked brand new. My china cabinet is starting to overflow... ... [ Discover More ]

New Car Smell

Steve and I had been talking lately about replacing the 8 year old car we owned before we went ahead and purchased a caravan, to me it just felt like the smarter thing to do. Sure, we wouldn't be able to afford a flashy new caravan for awhile but we could still go camping until we could afford it. No point having a caravan if you don't have a car to tow it, plus it would be great for the business. We had this conversation two weeks ago. That Sunday we drove down to Bunnings to get sand for ...  {image}Voting for Kidspot's Top 50 Blogs closes at midday today (in just 2 hours!!!) and I'd really love it if you could go HERE and click a last minute vote for me. I'm currently sitting at 80 votes and I thank you for each and every one. I know that I don't have as many as some blogs listed but it's not the only deciding factor in determining the winner.I couldn't think of anything better than jet setting off to Dunk Island, leaving the daily grind behind. A great way to celebrate so ... [ Discover More ]

Lilac Jewels

It was my second day in Bondi Junction and I was heading out to do some shopping. I was all ready to take a super stylin self portrait and then a lady got on the elevator and looked like a goddess. Totally ashamed I took this horrible sneaky shot instead. I'm wearing dark grey wash jeans and a blue cropped denim jacket with a white singlet and a beautiful pastel pink shrug with grey sequins and my super chunky silver bangle. I wish I didn't care what the goddess thought of me and took a better ... [ Discover More ]

The Scoop

Last week I attended Angie Baxter's "The Scoop" Workshop and it was brilliant. There were 14 people in the class and it was held in a beautiful penthouse apartment at the Meriton, Bondi. It was so nice to get out of Windsor,  drive out to the coast and see the ocean, even if just from the balcony. Everyone in the class was lovely and some I'd met before from the previous workshop.Angie arranged for models to arrive throughout the day so we could watch how how she conducted a shoot, both ... Time for Me

{image}Today I'm spending some time delving into me and working on what I love. I mentioned before that I thoroughly enjoyed Angie Baxter's Love Your Camera Workshop so when she emailed me about a brand new workshop "The Scoop" focused on the business side I jumped at the chance. Sure, I had to sell a few things on ebay to help pay for it but I already knew what a great teacher Angie was so it was sound investment in my eyes. The workshop is at Bondi Junction and goes from 10am til 7pm... ... [ Discover More ]

Rearranged Living Room

BEFOREOn Fathers Day I had a lovely, simple, relaxed day planned. My mother who is staying with us at the moment, had other ideas... she cleaned. Soon the whole day was behind us, every surface was wiped and every cushion plumped. At one point Steve was on his hands and knees polishing the floorboards... I'm not kidding. The furniture was moved around now it looks like this:The room is so open and light now, I'm really happy with how it turned out. I can't take much credit for the work ... [ Discover More ]

Finding the Balance

{image}I’ve had a few things on my mind lately, mainly parenthood stresses. Is my son growing at a “normal” rate? Am I spending enough time doing developmental activities? Am I feeding him the best foods? Is he really ready for undies? Am I reading to him enough? Do we go on enough adventures? Do I own too many plastic, battery-operated toys? Is he watching too much TV? Am I…? Could I…? Should I…?Love isn’t a battlefield, parenthood is and you play out either side in your head on a daily ... [ Discover More ]
