Park Life

On Thursday Steve and I took Aidan out for the afternoon, just because we could. Lately every bird he see's goes "quack quack" so we thought it would be fun to take him by the river and show him lots of birds and let him run about for awhile. We're lucky where we live that it's right by the river, it's so beautiful. This is me trying to get a nice family photo on my iPhone but there was no chance. Getting out of the house and away from the computer was good, I felt refreshed.Aidan is a ball of ... WIN $100 with WESTFIELD

Sponsored by Nuffnang {image}Christmas is fast on our heels and I feel so unprepared this year. Time seems to have gotten away from me and I just know this will be the first year I scramble to pull it all together. We've already simplified things by agreeing to stay home and celebrate quietly on our own as a tiny family. This isn't Aidan's first Christmas but it will be the first one where he'll be actively involved and hopefully excited. My favourite part of Christmas is in the weeks of ... [ Discover More ]

Orange you glad I’m a Freak!

If you follow my facebook page then you'll know all about this outfit and have been patiently waiting to see what all the fuss was about. If you don't follow you'll need a bit of an explanation... I wore this outfit to the shops on Wednesday and even though I knew it was a bold choice, even for me, I wanted to show it off. Two grown women looked me up and down, turned towards each other and started snickering as I walked past. They said everything just loud enough for me to hear. I ... [ Discover More ]

Nanna? Never!

Last week I went a little bit ebay-crazy (my facebook fans were inundated with funky finds from all over the country- a la RealLiving) and whilst I was watching my goodies come to the end of their listings I just had to get out and do a little op shopping. My local op shop didn't disappoint, I found this total gem of a dress... ok, so it's actually a skirt, an old, pleated nanna skirt and it came with a godawful top which I kindly donated back to them. I love the jewel tones and the pleats are so ... [ Discover More ]

Canberra

Yesterday I set off to Canberra on my own to be the 2nd photographer at a wedding with Angie Baxter. I woke up at 7 which is unheard of at my house, packed up the car, kissed the baby, squeezed Steve's butt and headed out the door. I had a 3-4 hour drive in front of me and I had plenty of CDs to keep me company. The plan was to meet Angie at a coffee shop near the brides home to do a quick run through of the day and since I got there half an hour early I set up the laptop and ordered the most ... Pretty in Pink

I'm really enjoying these fashion posts and apparently you are too so I thought I'd do another, showcasing some new threads. I'm not usually keen on fairy floss pink clothing but I couldn't pass up this little striped number... I love this top more that I thought I would, the ruched puff detail on the shoulders, the lovely scoop neck and the length of it... it's just gorgeous and girlie. I'm also wearing my favourite mega pearls from Diva, silver "love" studs from Equip and my favourite ... [ Discover More ]

Weekend Away

We packed up the new car last Wednesday and headed off up the coast for five days for our friends wedding which I was to photograph. We decided to stay overnight at my grandparents which just so happened to be the half way point for our trip. It was so lovely to see them and watch them interact with a busy toddler.   Aidan loves my Grandparents place, Steve does too and has mentioned on several occasions that he'd be quite content living there. They have a large open plan home and ... [ Discover More ]

It’s all about the light

{by me}Today I'm photographing a wedding, I've photographed them before but only as a guest. This will be the first time I've had the official title of "Wedding Photographer" and I'm nervous and super excited. The weather has been atrocious the last few days and I'm hoping and praying for decent weather and good light today. The happy couple are close friends of ours and I know that no matter what the weather is like on their wedding day, the sun will always shine brightly on their marriage x ... [ Discover More ]

Win $1000 with Cottees

Sponsored by NuffnangWhen I was growing up in the Northern Territory we only really drank water and plenty of it. Soft drinks weren't allowed in the house as my dad was a bit of a health nut but his favourite treat was a glass of cordial with dinner... yeah, he went all out. He only bought Cottee's Brand and to this day it's the only one I buy. Maybe it's the taste, maybe it's the ingrained "childhood treat" factor but whatever it is, it's the one I love.Cottee's has revamped their product ... [ Discover More ]

Little Hands

One item I was really excited about finding at the Toddler Expo last weekend were these Playon Crayons. I had a set similar to these when I was a child and they were so much fun. You could pop them on your fingers, stack them and they were really comfortable to hold. I got 12 different colours for $12. Sidenote: Aidan knows the colours Blue and Green, must be from picking out his Tshirts every morning?I brought them out this afternoon during playtime and Aidan had so much fun. He did this ... I had a 28 day cycle! For newer readers you may have missed out on a rather large and constant issue on my blog regarding infertility. Obviously it all worked out well in the end but there were almost 5 hard years of hoping, wishing and swearing my head off and sleeping on tear soaked pillows. Toddler Expo

Today Aidan and I ventured into the city for a fun, full-on day at the Baby & Toddler Expo in Darling Harbour. I decided to drive in since the weather looked rather miserable and I was a little excited to drive the new car in for the first time.Of course because it was going to be such a big day out, just the two of us, I had to take a photo before we left the house. We're both wearing new outfits and were looking pretty spiffy. Before we'd even left the carpark we'd made friends with another ... [ Discover More ]
