Last week I went a little bit ebay-crazy (my facebook fans were inundated with funky finds from all over the country- a la RealLiving) and whilst I was watching my goodies come to the end of their listings I just had to get out and do a little op shopping.
My local op shop didn’t disappoint, I found this total gem of a dress… ok, so it’s actually a skirt, an old, pleated nanna skirt and it came with a godawful top which I kindly donated back to them. I love the jewel tones and the pleats are so flattering. I didn’t have to do any alterations at all, I just slipped it on and popped my new belt on to cinch in my waist. A simple $6 dress which is completely original!
I’m wearing one of my new waterfall cardigans, it was on sale and a size smaller than I usually go for but I couldn’t pass up the colour. The leggings are a firm favourite and so are my pumps. I’m also wearing my funky yellow necklace and a fake facet bracelet I bought on sale.
I still feel a bit silly about these posts but I have so much fun doing them. There are many many plus size fashion blogs out there and whilst I would never class my blog as a FATshion blog (I believe fashion is just fashion no matter the size of the wearer) it’s a great and inspiring community. Taking photos of myself in outfits that make me look good, makes me feel good and positive body image is always something to work towards.
Finding this dress/skirt has really driven me to dig deeper into the clothes section at the op shop… who knows what I’ll find next time I visit!
