It’s all about me!

I've had a couple of exciting weeks lately, jam packed full of fun, fashion and lots of photo editing. To say I'm a little bit behind is an understatement but I've cleaned my office, updated my calendars and things seem to be getting back on track. If you had told me a month ago that I would be doing the things I've been doing, I'd say you were crazy or had a little too much tequila... seriously, I could never have predicted it.I had a photoshoot with all the City Chic bloggers the other week ... Captain Grandpa

{image: My son Aidan sitting on Grandpa's knee watching videos of his sailing trip}My Dad's dream was to own a yacht, live on it full time with Mum and sail the seas for the rest of his life. He turns 50 in September and has almost reached his goal. He bought a jet ski when he was in his twenties and traded it in for a tiny, one man sail boat. Then he traded that in for a small no-frills tinny and then that was traded in for a fancy, larger tinny. When they moved to the coast of Far North ... [ Discover More ]

How to shop at Aldi

aldi-2

I love Aldi... actually my whole family does! Steve and I were spending way too much a week on groceries for just two people and we needed to find a better solution so we decided to experiment with Aldi and see what it was all about. To put it frankly, the absence of popular brand names was a bit unsettling at first (oh how brainwashed we were) but after a few visits we were converted. The shopping experience is quite different to that of Coles and Woolies so for an Aldi "virgin" it can be quite ... [ Discover More ]

Spring Fever

Sponsored by Nuffnang{image}With only a few weeks of summer left, fashion stores across Australia are already preparing for  the new autumn/winter collections to hit the floor. However on the other side of the globe fashionistas are ready and waiting to shed their winter layers and embrace the sunshine. We're lucky in Australia, there are always more warm months than cool so we really get to maximise our spring/summer wardrobe.I thought I'd share a moodboard with you all, one that captures ... Soul Sisters

{image}I have a sister. We look alike, we sound alike and we have exactly the same temper, oh and parents. But that's not who I want to talk about today. I wanted to talk about my friends, the kind you have for always. The friends who hold you tight when your failing, who make you belly laugh when all you want to do is cry. They know your favourite wine, your guilty snack and when you need to be told the harsh truth... these women are also my sisters. When we were teens and we lived in each ... [ Discover More ]

Shoes (thank goodness)

Those who follow me on twitter would know for the past few weeks I've been on a worldwide search for shoes to fit my weirdly shaped feet. I don't have many pairs and any that are remotely fancy are painful to wear for more than 30 minutes. The trouble is I have size 9.5/10 feet but a standard width of 9cm doesn't fit, I need 10cm. I also prefer a lower heel as 120kgs on my toes is quite painful. Finding shoes to fit me in Australia off the shelf is almost impossible. Well, bless my stars because ... [ Discover More ]

Mumma’s Helper

{image}Let me start by saying that finding a nanny is no picnic, even admitting you need the help feels like a kick in the shins. I'm thankful that I realised pretty early in that I wouldn't be able to cope with the workload without some assistance so I started mentally preparing myself for the change months ago. Getting through the countless applications, finding someone perfect on paper only to find that they just didn't fit when meeting in person, was a roller coaster of emotions. As I hired ... Emails, Blogs and Large Fries

This where I am right now. Sitting in my car outside maccas. It's almost 1am, I've been here since 9pm and at 11pm they kicked me out so I'm sitting in my car like a loser. I was also here last night for the same amount of time but the other manager was nicer and let me hang out as long as I wanted. I'm still no where near completing my tasks for the day and what frustrates me more than my flashing "low battery" light is the fact that none of this is my fault. My provider altered the network and ... [ Discover More ]
