Welcome back for week 47 of the Polly Dolly weekly Polyvore challenge!
Every Thursday I’ll post a new Polly Dolly Theme Challenge, then you toddle off and get creative. You can credit the items if you want and add a bit of an explanation of why you chose the pieces or you can just share your clipboard… it’s up to you. When you’re done maxing out your imaginary credit cards, simply add your link below using your blogs name as the “title” and a direct link to the specific blog post. Polyvore publishes your outfit straight to your blog with a simple click of the “publish” button… too easy!
Have you ever looked at a on-trend item and thought to yourself “nah, I couldn’t pull that off” without ever trying it on? I used to be like that then I opened myself up a bit more to fashion and different styles. If you don’t end up looking like the model on the posters or in the lookbook when you try it on, that’s not to say you’re wearing the piece badly or incorrectly, it just means that you’re wearing it uniquely!
Recently I walked in to a “standard size” store and asked for a L-XL item just to try out a new trend. The assistant looked at me like I was in denial about my size and gave me the worse customer service I’ve ever experienced in retail. She was obviously brainwashed into thinking that the store mannequins were the only ones with the authority to dictate fashion and how clothing should be warn. All I wanted was a maxi dress (on sale) that I could cut and alter into a lovely long, high waisted, flowing skirt. So I want to know, how would you dress your Dolly in a…
I was instantly drawn to this maxi skirt and the entire outfit just seemed to naturally develop around it. It’s soft, neutral, textured fabric looks even more amazing when teamed up with a simple black tank top. Just because you’re wearing a maxi, doesn’t mean you have to wear flats! These gladiator peep toe wedges are so lovely, I can imagine myself wearing them to death. The gold and onyx statement choker and cuff are so beautiful and dramatic, nothing else is really needed… besides a cool pair of sunglasses of course! I’d wear my make up contoured and bronzed with thick lashes, wide & flicked eyeliner and soft shimmery nude lips.
Also, do you have a photo of yourself wearing a maxi skirt to share?
