Introducing a new weekly blog segment, “Six Take” it involves six different plus sized women across the globe using new and old items from their wardrobe to dress to a set theme each week… basically it’s like Polly Dolly only in real life and unfortunately for me, I can’t pay for new items with an imaginary credit card (sob). We all contributed different weekly theme ideas to a twelve month schedule and one of my suggestions “Boots” was first on the list!
These are my lovely new peeptoe canvas wedges from Rubi Shoes $39.95… I seriously heart these! I’ve mentioned the difficulties I’ve had finding shoes in the past but lately I’ve been getting lucky. I’m not sure whether it’s down to sizings or I’m trying harder to seek them out, either way I love these as they’re so comfortable and surprisingly supportive. I feel very “Hard Rock” when I wear them which is what inspired this outfit.
Aidan joined me this afternoon and we both rocked our super cool sunglasses, mine from Cotton On and Aidan’s were from a Baby Expo last year. He’s such a dude when he wears them, dances around and pulls them on and off with attitude, I have no idea where he gets it from…
This jacket is going to be a wardrobe staple until I wear it to death. I love the cut, the length, the button clasp… the whole thing. It’s also a great piece for showing off my fast expanding brooch collection. The shorts are something new for me, I really like the length as they hide my not-so-nice knees. The top is a simple cami which adds a pop of colour and breaks up all the black. I was afraid that the shorts and the boots would make me look shorter, having two block colours cutting my leg in two places but I think my legs look really nice and long… that said, if I was wearing peeptoe pumps they would look even longer.
I’m also wearing a black/crystal brooch I found in an Op Shop, cheap silver “love” stud earrings, my Danimezza silver necklace, a mixture of different silver large sized bangles and my gorgeous silver, crystal and jade pocket watch necklace.
So, this is my first official outfit for Six Take and just so you can keep an eye out, future posts will appear every Monday as of next week. I was running behind on a lot of my blog posts but I’m slowly catching up, 6-7 weekly posts will resume shortly I promise!
