This is what I wore on Wednesday, yes I know… Six Take is meant to be published on Monday but I’m so behind it’s crazy. I have 9+ posts sitting in draft just waiting to be published. I’m usually a “blurter“ like Lissa but now I find my time so very very limited that I don’t have a choice but to plan ahead and even then… just take this as my awkward apology, ok. I’m really into this little clothing challenge so here is the latest ensemble for the theme “Leggings”.
I’m actually in the city, in a posh building full of creative spaces… I had serious studio envy guys! I can’t stop thinking about white walls, polished concrete floors, op shop couches and ikea flat packs… sigh. I’d just finished having a very exciting meeting with the City Chic team about L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival next week… WHICH I’M ATTENDING!!! I’ll of course be taking a lot of photos, live tweeting (#CCLMFF), facebook updating, hanging with my girlie Teer and my new home girl Megan oh and interviewing international models…. eeeeep!
I still can’t really believe everything that’s been going on, seems so surreal. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving it all to pieces but it feels like such a stark contrast to how I lived my life a few months ago. Even in the last few weeks as I sat at the table with Steve and Aidan, reading the Sunday paper as usual, my star signs all pointed to a big shift in my life. This was the same theme in all the magazines and papers I came across. They said it was positive, would involve the internet, confidence, public speaking and appearance. Couldn’t be a truer representation of my month so far. That said, I don’t believe it’s all happened because of the stars and planets aligning (although helpful) it’s been a truck load of hard work!
Before I prattle on too much I should tell you a bit about what I’m wearing. I’ll just let you know in advance that almost everything I’m wearing is by City Chic, I didn’t plan it that way but it is a mix of old and new pieces. Leggings, Flats, Dress, Puff Sleeve Top, Necklace, Belt, Bangles, Headband. I can see myself wearing a lot of outfits like this through Autumn and it was nice when my bosses commented on my ensemble, thankfully in a positive light!
After the meeting I went around the corner to visit Megan from Damn You Alexis who is also a writer for Shop til you Drop Magazine. I had emailed Megan when her very first article went to print, announcing my adoration of her work, her vision oh and of course her clothes! I contacted her again recently and she invited me around to check out her new space… which of course I happily accepted!
I was already familiar with her pieces but hadn’t yet seen them in person so I was just a little excited. I tried on a few dresses and fell in love with one of them so much that she wouldn’t let me leave without it. The cheeky girl also threw in a pair of leggings as well as black and white tanks, both are super soft, I felt so spoilt. Keep an eye out for a super duper fancy pants outfit post next week it’ll be out of this world…
This is Megan (Hi Megan!), she’s been a busy bee lately working on a collaboration with City Chic which will be shown during the free runway show at Federation Square next Wednesday. We’ll both be at a special in-store promotion at the Burke Street store later that afternoon if you can’t make it to the show. We spent the remainder of my visit hanging out on her super cool couch talking about velvet furniture, the complexities of ikea shelving and finding the perfect computer chair. I like this girl, I like her a lot we have so much more than I expected in common with each other and I can see us collaborating on a lot of projects in the future.
I know I kind of rolled three different posts into one but I have so much to tell you all and little time to do it. Plenty of posts up my sleeve trust me ladies! Keep an eye out for Polly Dolly sometime today and don’t forget to check out the other Six Take girls outfits: Anna, Courtney, Eryn, Nicola & Meg.
