Nikon Fashion Photography

{image}Today I'm doing something different and heading into the city for a full day workshop with Christian Blanchard, focusing on fashion editorial photography organised by The Nikon School. It cost me $350 but I know it will be worth it. Experience is key to learning and progressing so I see it as an investment. My blogging pocket money being put to good use. I'm really looking forward to getting in the studio and physically getting my hands on the equipment and being taught how ... [ Discover More ]

Magazine Junkie

This post is sponsored by Nuffnang Australia for MagshopI've always found magazines to be so alluring and seductive. Growing up in the Northern Territory there was very little glitter and glamour, more dust and dirt than anything else. The pages of a magazine were a stark contrast to the life I lived as a teen and although I loved my upbringing and the community there, a teenage girls heart does dream of what it would be like to live in that kind of life. To this day every time I see a magazine ... [ Discover More ]

Six Take – Skirt

The space skirt from last week caused a few giggles, it definitely broke a few rules and was a lot of fun to wear but this week I wanted to share a different skirt with you all. I've really been enjoying layering black lately, focusing on texture and form instead of my usual love of colour. I only own four skirts, the space skirt, the pleather skirt, an old short denim skirt and this one so it was great to dress this one up differently from the others for you. As soon as I saw the fringe ... Ewww Sushi and Old Stuff!

Going up to Brisbane the other week was really lovely. I got to hang out with Dani and her beautiful girls. We spent our days op shopping, eating all different kinds of foods and spent many, many hours talking about blogging... as bloggers tend to do. Dani has been banging on at me for years to try sushi as her whole family adores the stuff.  Poor Jos waited patiently for me to take the photo... I didn't dare make her wait too long. I started with something simple, ... [ Discover More ]

Six Take – Breaking the Rules

When I went to visit the Damn You Alexis studio a few weeks ago Megan got me trying on almost every one of her pieces and absolutely insisted that I take the Space Skirt home with me. Initially I said no, I had nowhere to wear it, that my bum was too big and my legs weren't that great. She told me to "shut up and just take it". Some might consider it harsh but it was said kindly, just like a best friend would say. We both knew it was my lack of confidence, not the skirt. She said to hang it ... [ Discover More ]

Gok Wan Naked with Danimezza

I really had no idea how my alloted 15 minutes with Gok Wan would go. I didn't write down questions or plan to press him on personal topics or ask things he'd already answered publicly... it just didn't feel like my style. It went better than I could have ever imagined because we ended up hanging out on the couch and chatting for about 40 minutes! You should know this isn't an interview or a report or anything like that, it's a reflection on meeting someone whose soul, in some parts, ... [ Discover More ]

Six Take – Picnic

I stayed in Brisbane with my BFF over the weekend and when I told Dani this week's theme for Six Take was "Picnic" she got all excited, bundled us all (she has three girls) into the car and off we went on a little photo taking adventure. I adore this photo, it's so us... just a bit more glamorous. I'm enlarging it and hanging it in my studio. It was so nice having someone awesomely talented like Dani to take my photograph.Because we're always behind the camera, we're rarely in front of it.We did ... I have to say, Maggie and I ... [ Discover More ]

Six Take – Stripes

Today I'm doing something completely exciting with just a pinch of mind blowing... I'm interviewing Gok Wan!!! Of course this meant pouring through my wardrobe trying to find just the right thing to wear. I wanted something trendy but not something that looked like it was pulled straight from a catalogue and I wanted to show off my playful side and individuality.First impressions always count, even more so when you're meeting a man who restyles women of all sizes who dress poorly for their ... Have you booked your photo session with me yet? I figured whilst I was jet-setting across the country hosting fancy parties I could also take on a few bookings for those who don't live in Sydney and are unable to travel to me for them. Families needing to freeze time? Individuals wanting to express their individuality? Maybe you just need a cool blog profile photo? In the last few months I've silently waved "hello" to a few new readers, readers which may not even know about my travel plans ... [ Discover More ]

Microwavable Slippers

I bought these Mircowavable Slippers the other week from ALDI because well, most things from ALDI turn out to be brilliant and at $10 for the pair it wasn't a very expensive experiment. They came in a couple of colours and I grabbed a purple fuzzy pair filled with wheat and lavender. Basically they're Wheat Heat Packs with a bit of extra, elasticated fabric on top to slip your feet into. Awesome right!I popped them in the mircowave for 90 seconds and slipped them on straight away. The smell of ... [ Discover More ]

Opinion Time: Cute Hat?

Morgan & Taylor Felt Hat $89.00Even though I have a TRILLION other things I have to update you all on (so. many. blog. posts.) I really want some feedback on this hat I found in Merimbula whilst on our family caravan holiday last week. I've been obsessing over it since the moment I saw it. I don't say this very often about hats but this one is fan-fricken-tastic and I'd even go as far as saying it my made my felt-hat-loving heart flutter. I'm kicking myself for not taking a front-on photo ... [ Discover More ]
