Last week I attended a little get together of beauty bloggers and assorted press to celebrate Benefit’s 10th year in Australia as well as the launch of Benefit’s brand new brightening and hydrating skin care range called “B.Right”.
I traveled into the city all the way to the Benefit Boutique in Paddington to attend.
The best part about the evening was that I would have the chance to meet and chat with Annie and Maggie, twins of one of the sisters who founded Benefit! I have to say, Maggie and I really hit it off and she even asked for my card, I was so flattered.
Not only did I get to rub shoulders with Annie and Maggie but I also got to meet these two lovely creatures. They run the place so go in and get yourself done up pronto!
Being a blogger event you’re always bound to run into at least one person you know and I was so glad to see Mrs Woog there, the girls a riot!
Of course we just had to get a photo together to capture our fabulousness…
… but we know how to poke fun at ourselves too.
I think every girl needs one of these in her house!
I wanted to move straight into the Media Room.
It was so bright and gorgeous… and those chairs, dreamy!
I wasn’t aware that the Benefit Boutique had a tanning booth with their very own tanning product. Mrs Woog gave me a demonstration and her best J.Lo impersonation. Hilarious!
All tanning products make me look weird but I’m going in to try theirs very soon.
Everything about Benefit, their ethos, branding, packaging and just the general feel you get when you use their products or when you visit the boutique, really resonates with me more than any another brand or company.
The glamorous, feminine touches and their aim to make women not only look beautiful but to also feel it… I think it’s just fabulous!
Ok, well he’s pretty fabulous too but more on him later.
The boutique has all these little beauty counters set up, it really is a lovely space.
I felt a little out of my league, so many high ranking beauty bloggers were in attendance and while I don’t classify myself as a beauty blogger (I’m a Vanity Blogger, yup I’m so vain I started my own blogging category!) I felt like I belonged there.
I’m very loyal to Benefit and speak very highly of their products so I was excited to learn more about the skincare range. As you know I link to Benefit in Polly Dolly ALL THE TIME because I really do use and adore the products and want to share what I love with those I love (yes, YOU)!
It was also nice to finally meet some of the team from the PR company who represent Benefit. They keep me up to date with new products and managed to wrangle me an invitation to the event. Be open to PR, the opportunities they award you can be pretty awesome.
Maggie and Annie give a little presentation about the B.Right range.
These ladies have Benefit in their blood and are so passionate about what they do.
Everyone was silent, soaking in all their wisdom.
I saw women crazily writing down notes, I was cheeky and used the voice recorder on my iPhone. I’ll do a further post about the skin care (yep I got free stuff, WooHoo!) once I’ve had a bit of time to really trial the range.
Maggie, Dani & Annie… too cute right!
I’m wearing: this top, this jacket, these jeans, these boots, these earrings, this ring and this necklace.
Maggie, Mrs Woog & Annie
Mrs Woog gets advice and asks hard hitting questions.
We were all able to get make overs and try as many products as we wanted.
Unfortunately this guy wasn’t a “Tester” but he was super nice and came gift wrapped baring booze!
The boutique was absolutely packed, I really want to go in again when it’s not so crowded.
On Thursday nights the Benefit Paddington Boutique have little beauty workshops, this week’s is Smoking Eyes. It costs $50 which is redeemable with products plus you also get a free full sized product as a gift! I suggest following their facebook page for updates as each workshop is different.
After everyone had their make overs, eaten their fill in canapes and sculled as many glasses of Chandon as humanly possible, we celebrated some more! You could say we had our cake and ate it too… and a Sweet Art Cake no less!
The event photographer took official photos whilst I let Tiff work her magic on my eye lashes…
I’ve always wanted to be able to wear false eyelashes but my big giant man-hands made it infuriatingly difficult. I bought a pair of my own to the Boutique in hopes that someone could teach me as the girl at the MAC counter who sold them to me was useless… I mean, her’s were falling off!
These are the lashes that Ricki-Lee wore a few weeks ago and tweeted about how much she loved them and now I see why, oh so glamorous!
Tiff and I with our pretty peeper, thanks again doll x
Cinderella had to go home at some point but she didn’t leave empty handed, we all left with goodie bags stuffed with full sized products from the Benefit B.Right Skincare Range as well as more detailed product information so we were equipped to give you the right info and have it on hand to answer your questions.
As a novelty gift, we each recieved a lamp but not just any lamp, a lamp I’d been coveting for YEARS but could never justify splurging on. It’s a clear acrylic Kartel lamp that totally rocks my socks off and visually transforms my studio… totally worth lugging it all the way through the city and on the train home.
Here is a little video about the B.Right range. As I said, I will do a full product review once I’ve been able to properly test the products and I always take a few weeks to do this. I’ll give you my honest opinion as I’m a bit of a product junkie.
Even if you don’t use it often or you use it every day, what is your favourite beauty product? Is it a steal or a splurge? What do you love about it?
Mine?
STEAL: Lucas PawPaw Ointment $4 a tube
SPLURGE: Benefit Smokin’ Eyes Kit $68 but used to death
