My new hair is cool. So cool that somedays I think I’m not actually cool enough to pull it off… it’s all kinds of awesome. I have a couple of big events coming up in the next two weeks so I’m heading back to Stevie English Hair next Friday and you know what… I want to fall further down the rabbit hole. I may even just tell the colourist to go nuts, become the canvas, release his artistic will. I want the front tips lighter, light enough for a violet hue… we’ll see if my hair can hack it. By the way, this is me being lazy, just lipgloss and mascara, bags and all. I blame #nnb2011. Oh and the lipgloss is from Face of Australia, it’s my “Skype-Go-To” lipgloss, perfect every time and instantly makes me look less tired and washed out, also tastes like mullberries!
This is me, dressed up for… the post office. Yep, I live the high rolling lifestyle that’s for sure. I just slicked on my highwaisted skinny jeans from City Chic which I’m sad to say are dying in the arse (literally) because I’ve worn them to death and my favourite pink cardi from Target. To make it a little less safe I layered a simple black cami with a black lace top from Best&Less. Originally the black lace top had a pale pink tank underlay but I got the quick-unpick up and made the top a little more versatile. You can’t see it but the lace top hace rouching at the hips with pretty black ribbon, I always get compliments when I wear it and it only cost $9 on sale. The pale pink tank I ripped off became PJs. Bling ring is from City Chic and the necklace, a tiny little mirror on a long chain was a $3 sale item from Equip if I’m not mistaken.
This little dude has been my #1 sidekick lately. I even took him along to a catalogue shoot with Damn You Alexis last week. Was a total doll and so well behaved. He broke everyone out into giggles and he had the model wrapped around his little finger. He stayed out of the way 90% of the time and didn’t put sticky fingers on anything. In a studio of people, none of which had children, in a high pressure, time restricted environment he was brilliant. I was beaming with pride all the way home. Don’t get me wrong, if I can get a sitter in the future (this time I couldn’t) I will, I just felt I wasn’t 100% invested in what I was doing as I was distracted and I’m sure he’d have more fun hanging out in a less restrictive environment.
This is what happens when you pretend to throw your child at the computer screen, lots of giggles and squealing… makes for awesome photos! Not everyday is great. I get tired a lot. We both get cranky. Like Eden, one minute I scrubbing the scunge from the toilet and painstakingly teaching my son the benefits of manners, the next I’m photographing high profile models and eloquently discussing designers and trends. Sometimes the brain and heart move slower than the body, somedays are just purely for adjusting and if I have trouble… my husband is there to kick me squarely up the backside as a kind reminder!
