I have neglected my blog this week and instead embraced the special time I have with my girl Suger who has been sleeping on my couch for a week. Instead of blogging, having a conversation with you, telling you stories I’ve been talking to Sug, showing her cool stuff, shopping and eating too much and running myself rugged so here is a sneak peek into my week…
I hosted the very first Girls Night In – Curvy Clothes Swap at Sydney World Tower and it was a total success. I still can’t believe that it really happened. I feel so blessed to have such great friends with such similar interests and a kick ass sense of humour.
My girl Sug was just as wrecked as I was the next day. We sat together marvelling at the mystical cleaning powers of Liz as we slumped in our chairs eating cupcakes and feeling only slightly alive. I honestly haven’t been that hungover in a very very long time. Totally worth it.
On Monday I picked up my brand new Volvo S60, well it was mine for the week. Probably the smartest car I’ve ever driven. Steve wasn’t impressed that I made Suger my second driver on the insurance forms but more on that later.
I made plans with Chantelle to meet up for lunch and that’s exactly what we did. Telle, Suger and I ate lots of super yummy sushi whilst Aidan and Lacey got to know each other. I sense many more play dates in the future.
I’m still new to sushi and I have to thank Dani for introducing me. I stick to the safe choices but oh boy is it good. Come on, you know you want some.
Aidan loves his tunes and I’ve been looking for kid sized headphones for awhile. Finally I found some for under $15 from Crayons and I highly recommend them. He was so excited to put them on and now he just has to wear them when he plays his games and music on the iPad. We’re both winning!
On Thursday night Suger and I went to dinner with Leigh, Amanda and Natalie at one of my favourite restaurants “Tequilas“. It was so nice to catch up at a relaxed pace, eat yummy food and go shopping with my bloggy girlfriends.
Sug has been sick the entire time. Coughing and sniffling and complaining of waxy ears. So I did what I do best and whipped out my ear candles. It was hilarious to watch.
I don’t remember the last time I ate this much but I guess that food does always taste better when shared with friends. You take on their taste and food choices, you experiment and laugh more. These lemon sugar crepes were amazing.
Suger has made a few meals for us since she’s been here, a delicious lasagna, a creamy chicken pie and tonight, roast chicken and vegies… it’s going to be hard to send her home tomorrow.
We’ve had long chats into the night, Sug sitting in her spot on the couch and me in mine. I explained I was having trouble writing posts this week, the words weren’t flowing from my fingers as they usually would. Then I thought about it, I write in a conversational tone. When I write a post I’m writing to you, just as I would talk to you if we were sitting side by side… so no wonder I can’t write, this whole week I’ve been talking my jaw off having long chats on my couch with Sug instead of with you… my soul feels better for it, I’ll see you in a few days x
