DMNYC Chinese Food and Friends

by Danimezza on July 3, 2012

It was my third night in NYC and Caitlin and I had been invited out to have Chinese for dinner with Jessica from Too Many Sequins and a few of her friends. I’ll admit I haven’t talked to that many international bloggers, just the few who have been around about as long as I have but none of them were attending FFFWeek. It was up to me to put on a brave face, admit I didn’t know a single thing about anyone at the table, make a good impression and have a good time… but that’s how new friendships are made right?

I don’t even like Chinese, I would have preferred an authentic italian meal (never got the chance to do that) but I wasn’t really there for the food anyway. We laughed, talked, took photos and I nervously slurped down two $5 Long Island Iced Teas thanks to happy hour. I also thought my fortune cookie was the best.

I came across the Metallic Cardigan from Autograph on sale just before I left and fell in love. I think it goes beautifully with one of my most favourite skirts in the whole world at the moment, my blue one from Virtu. As it’s a pencil skirt it hugs my tummy but I really don’t mind, I was conscious of it at first but then I didn’t care as it’s meant to hug my figure. You can’t see “rolls” just a soft curve and I think it’s nice.

I think I sat on the floor of my studio for a solid hour deciding whether I should take my Libby Bag or my new Safari bag to New York. The Libby goes with so many different outfits because of it’s grey colour but the Safari was less rigid due to it’s soft soft purple leather and no one else would have a bag like it. I received so many compliments, I know first hand how hard it is for bloggers to find fashionable camera bags and it’s nice to have such trust from companies to allow me to flaunt their bags blog online and in person.

Be sure to go and check out the blogs created by these lovely ladies, total gems!
