This week really was a challenge for me, I’m not a fan of animal print at all. At one point I did think of skipping it but you know, since Aussie Curves is my thing I should push the envelope a bit and get out of my comfort zone. It was 6pm on Sunday, about to rain and I’d forgotten to take my pics so I quickly whipped this outfit together, smeared on some eyeliner and went for it. I am wearing the only two animal print pieces (both were gifts) in my wardrobe… and I don’t feel like me.
- Body Con Dress – 17 Sundays gifted
- Earrings – Lovisa
- Wide Snake Bangle – Virtu gifted
- Wide Metal Belt – City Chic
- Scarf – Catherine’s gifted
- Wedges – Payless USA
- Gold Bag – Vintage Glomesh
Don’t get me wrong I really love my outfit but every part of me wants to rip off the scarf and replace it with a bold, colourful, floral one. I’d feel better if the bangle was heavily encrusted with plastic gemstones instead of faux snakeskin. Since my Closet Clear Out at the markets and on my facebook page (there are still a few pieces available, check ’em out) I feel like my wardrobe, my look, has more of a direction. I guess I’m growing up.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still having a lot of fun playing with fashion and trying new trends but I have a greater sense of what makes me happy when I wear clothes and how those clothes make me feel and that can only be a good thing. Animal print, no matter how I try to embrace it in all it’s different prints and forms just doesn’t represent me or my style and that’s ok. There is no right or wrong, just how you feel.
