It’s been so nice outside lately and I haven’t been taking advantage of it as I’ve felt so miserable. I’m changing my habits and trying to shake off the clouds. So today Steve hung out the laundry, Aidan ran about with Charlie and I whipped on my activewear and decided to try something new.
My gorgeous friend Meaghan from Little Lime Dress posted a YouTube link on facebook which lead to a work out video specifically aimed at plus size women that she featured in. Within seconds I was hooked and I wanted to join in too. I dragged my laptop outside, my inhaler and a drink bottle as well as my iphone because I decided it would be hilarious to film myself doing the video and sharing it with you…
I know, I’m hilarious! But in all seriousness it was a lot fun and I’ll be doing it at least three times a week. I don’t know whether is was the routine or the fun instructor or that plus size women were starring in a workout video but I instantly connected.
I thought I’d show off my new TS14+ Taking Shape Activewear, it’s just a little bit snazzy. You’ve already seen how it handles with me jumping all over the place but you might be interested in a few extra details.
I looooove this hoodie, it’s lightweight, really stretchy and keeps of the chill. The colours are absolutely beautiful, named after one of my favourite flowers. The neckline is quite smart, the zipper tucks away and it doesn’t feel restrictive at all.
One of the things I always look out for is room around the arms as mine are quite big, I didn’t have a problem. As you can see in the video I could flex and shake about as much as I pleased. The paneling is clever and eye catching. It retails at $89.95 but rest assured that it feels and looks expensive.
Unfortunately I’m not as supported as I’d usually be because all my sports bras were in the wash. Normally my girls stay in their place so I felt a little awkward wearing one of my regular bras. I can’t let my boobs dictate how I live my life so I just went for it.
Transform Top – Size M – Dahlia – gifted
Sleeves, personally I find them annoying when I work out but I know a lot of you are fans. This top didn’t bother me too much as the sleeves were stretchy but you’ll see in the video when I’m constantly lifting my arms it lifts the whole top up and I have to keep pulling it down. If I did those movements in any top with sleeves it would do the same thing which is why I prefer sleeveless. Again, personal preference.
The top is really smart, just like the yoga top there is panelling and gorgeous colours. The Taking Shape teardrop logo is mirrored in the keyhole at the neck and the back of the top slightly slopes down to cover more of your rear which I liked. You can see a small zippered pocket near the hand on my hip, handy for cash, keys or a card.
Transform Legging – Size M – gifted
The leggings are made of a warmer, thicker fabric than the ones I own from sister store Virtu which I like going into winter. As always, the waistband is nice and high, nanna style which I absolutely adore. I like my entire ass and hip area covered thank you very much.
The length of the leggings is good and I really like the panelling. At the top you can see a little zippered pocket where I usually stash my asthma inhaler and my keys. I got Steve to take these photos for me after my workout and even though I know I was dripping with sweat, you can’t see in the clothes which in my opinion kicks ass!
I challenge you to watch the #PSPFit video, be inspired by the ladies doing their thing and give it a go yourself. It’s free, fun and will only take 20 minutes. Don’t be afraid to modify the workout to suit you and better yet, drag along your partner or best friend and get them to do it with you, as I know that’s what inspires me.
