Since I recently dared myself to wear a bright green dress and loved myself silly in it, I’ve been on a mission to add more green to my wardrobe. I’d never worn anything from New Zealand label Lucabella before so when they contacted me out of the blue and asked if I’d be interested in trying some of their range I jumped at the chance!
Without even blinking I knew I needed this cardi for “Green Week”. The flourish print, the tiny buttons and the beautiful shade of jade green… sigh. I ordered a size L and it fits comfortably, the buttons don’t pull even over my big boobs and the arms aren’t tight. You should have seen my face when I tried it on. I could have gone down a size really but there’s nothing worse than a too-tight-cardi and I didn’t want to risk it.
Because the neckline is so high I didn’t bother with a necklace and because the sleeves were long I didn’t bother with bangles but I still wanted to add a little bling. That’s where my vintage brooch collection came into play. In the warmer months they’re stashed away but in winter I love displaying them on all my coats, jackets and cardigans. They’re not the real deal and each probably cost only $2 but I adore them, turns out I get that from my Great Grandma who has a large collection.

I’m really excited about discovering more of Lucabella’s range as I’m kind of smitten with what I’ve tried so far. The prices match the quality of what you receive, I can’t fault the pieces at all. As for adopting green in my wardrobe I’m totally converted and now I’m kind of kicking myself that I’ve gone for so many years without it… it just does something magical with the colour of my hair and skin don’t you think?
