A few Sunday’s ago we attended our first proper little kids birthday party. When we’ve attended in the past Aidan’s been much younger and didn’t move around much so this was a totally different ball game.
The birthday girl was adorable in her little tutu and all the kids ran and danced about the hall which was hired for the party. There was a definite pink theme and Barbie was everywhere… I was in heaven!
There was so many cute details to the party. In all the excitement the family’s camera had been left at home but I had mine in the back of the car as I’d planned to take outfit photos afterward so I pitched in and took some snaps.
Aidan played his first ever round of pass the parcel.
Eye patches and power rings.
There was Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
Make your own Bracelets.
A Decorate Your Own Cupcake bar.
Not to mention the sweetest little cardboard house to take it home in.
It was a lovely little party fit for a princess so I thought I’d show you what I wore.
- Midi Pleated Dress – ASOS Curve
- Neon Belt – ASOS Curve
- Hinged Enamel Bracelet – Sussans
- Neon Flats – Rubi Shoes
I love a good midi dress, the length just feels more flattering for me. It’s a very casual dress, definitely day wear and not something I’d try to dress up for night time unless it’s to the movies. The party was from 1pm so perfect for the situation.
To keep the black from appearing to heavy or somber for a kid’s birthday party I added pops of neon pink. I wasn’t sure what the activities would be like so wearing flats was important to me.
I’m sure Barbie would have approved.
