There were so many issues with the production of this years SWIM+ Lookbook that they wouldn’t all fit into one post and I kind of feel awkward talking about it but at the same time it’s hard to describe the triumph without sharing the pitt falls. A model dropped out, both photoshoot locations dropped out, stock didn’t arrive in time, clients changing agreements last minute, accommodation fell through, a model’s pet died, delays in shooting and a few other smaller issues.
At the time it felt like anything that could go wrong, did go wrong but now I’ve had time to breathe and really assess the situation and the photos, it all worked out in the end. As much as I’d like to say it was a highly polished production, it wasn’t but in saying that we did the best with what we had and worked it and we worked it hard, for you.
It takes months of planning to pull something like this off and most of the time I feel way in over my head but at the same time I’m enthralled and in love with the process. You might click through last years lookbook and say “yeah, that’s cool.” and think it’s not something to get that hyped about but you should. There is nothing like this in Australia.
A plus size swim and resort wear collective that uses models over a size 16 AUS, blends Australian and International brand pieces and styled in a fun high fashion way. It’s free to read and share and I really hope you do. It’s due for release on the 1st of November and until that day it’s going to be pretty much all I can think of.
On that note I’ll be driving back up the coast tomorrow to visit my parents during the school holidays so I can bunker down and get it done and Aidan and I can get some sun as well. Tonight I’m attending a plus size fashion launch so keep an eye on instagram but after that I might be a little AWOL but know it’s for a good reason.
