That’s exactly how I’ll be feeling when I arrive at the Gold Coast about midday today. Actually I might be a little tired and cranky from the travel but as soon as the ocean breeze kisses my face and the warm water touches my toes I’ll be in a very happy place.
I’m skipping town for the rest of the week as I’ll be attending ProBlogger Training Event, a two day conference full of learning, geek talk that I still don’t fully comprehend and networking, oh my goodness the networking. Actually you should probably read that last note hinted with a shot of tequila and the smell of sunscreen… not your everyday social media conference that’s for sure.
I’m still finding it a little hard to celebrate the week ahead as my girl Rhi can no longer make it, she’s going through some stuff and she needs to concentrate on that, life happens. I know that she’s reading this and has already teared up just like I have. We see each other once a year and this was meant to be it, our week and it’s killing us both. Rhi, I love you babe and I’m going to live it up for the both of us, I’m going to make it count.
So what’s a girl to do when she has a Twin bed, ocean view room at the QT Hotel and no one to share it with? Well, she steals someone’s trundle buddy and gives them an offer they can’t refuse… early bird discounted room pricing halved, lots of space and double the wardrobe. I’d like to introduce you to Suger, my roomie. It’s going to be a plus size fashion instagram selfie overload kind of week, be sure to follow the hashtag #aussiecurves and our individual accounts.
It’s just shy of 1am and I still haven’t finished packing, my brain has kind of melted. I have swimmers, pretty dresses and lots of business cards so I think I’m set. This isn’t my first rodeo and I’m a lot more laid back and less filled with nerves, it’s a good feeling. For those attending #PBEvent this year please come up and say “Hi” as it’s always a thrill to meet readers.
So here’s to a week of warm sunshine, sandy beaches, crisp pools, long island iced teas and a hotel crammed with bloggers… just my kind of (working) holiday!
