It’s not everyday that you get to go to a poolside party at the Hilton on the Gold Coast so when you do, you frock up! I bought this amazing dress in Darwin and I’ve been holding on to it, waiting for the right occasion to wear it. I’d originally planned to wear it casually during the day to #PBEvent but I had a last minute wardrobe freak out, changed my mind and I think it was for the best. I felt amazing.
The dress is jersey, had pleats to highlight curves and was just so easy to wear. I chose to highlight the pops of vibrant pink within the pixel print with… wait for it… even more pink! I borrowed Suger’s pink moto jacket and wore my favourite neon pink flats, bag, earrings and bangle just because I could. I began to feel there was an ever growing Barbie theme thanks to my blonde hair, a lot of repressed outfit options I’m guessing.
We were told it was going to be chilly and drizzly by the pool that night and it was to start with but the skies cleared and the champers started to kick in so no one really cared. It wasn’t long until I ditched the jacket altogether and really let the dress work it’s magic. It does something to my booty that no maxi has ever done before and I’m kind of hooked.

The night was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to kick back with friends, talk shop with the pros and totally “fan girl” all over Clare Bowditch… yeah, sorry about that Clare, I’ve simply adored you for way too long not too. Many champagnes were consumed, silly photo booth pics were taken and I even held a snake, it was epic. The thing I’ve learnt about attending parties is that you just have to push aside expectations and enjoy the moments as they unfold. Try not to get too caught up in outfit planning, it’s the smile you’re wearing that’s most attractive of all.
