Last Friday I was invited to the very first beauty launch of Tarazz at The Sailor’s Club at Rose Bay. A really beautiful space over the water, looking out across the marina and flooded with light… I wanted to move in and call it home. I got frocked up and headed into the city early, I was really looking forward to catching up with the Tarazz team who were flying up from Melbourne for the event.
Guests started trickling in and I soon found myself surrounded by beauty editors from all different publications, both print and digital media. It’s in those moments I kind of have pinch myself, remind myself not to be intimidated and that I’ve done the grunt work to be there alongside them… I just did it along a different path.
I got to meet Rikki Hodge from Women’s Fitness and we chatted about activewear, make up and the needs and questions put forward to us from plus size readers. She was really lovely and I hope to run into her again soon, I get such a thrill from meeting new people.
As we devoured a delicious brunch, celebrity make up artist Diane Dusting showed us how to recreate a flawless spring look with just a hint of “come hither”. I was seated at the furthest end of the table with the Tarazz ladies so I missed most of the action but isn’t the illustration by Luke Davis just divine!
Diane was really warm, friendly and so easy to talk to. I could have easily sat there for another hour and quizzed her on all manner of things. To create the look she used products available via Tarazz including Sephora brushes which I was very keen to play with, they were so soft. I was also digging Diane’s cobolt blue silk pants and mesh tee combo, so sport luxe chic.
What did I wear? I opted for a my white dress, the same one I wore on this years white cruise during FFFWeek. The silhouette is so simple and the fabrics are luxe so I always knew it was going to be a staple in my wardrobe. I had a full day of events so I opted for nude flats with a patent toe detail and wore my basic cropped denim jacket to keep it casual. My Kate Spade made an appearance and one of my favourite necklaces from Lovisa did too. I wore a soft coral lip and coral nails too, the details are important at these kinds of events.
Aside from the beautiful venue, interesting guests, yummy brunch, make up lesson and the fact that I didn’t spill a single thing on my dress, the best part would have to be catching up with the ladies from Tarazz. As I waved goodbye I made a mental note to find a way to get myself back to Melbourne to visit as soon as possible. Great things are happening at Tarazz, stuff I can’t even whisper about right now (my lips are sealed) but know I’m bouncing up and down in my seat and that you’re going to love it too.
Ok, so why don’t you tell me the one brand you wish you could easily get shipped to Australia (clothing/make up/homewares/anything!) and why you love it. Me? Well I wish we could get Forever21… your turn!
