Aidan’s been receiving quite a few kiddy fashion event invitations lately which is always a bit exciting but I’ve been selective about which ones we RSVP for. The latest was for the launch of The Kid Store and we couldn’t pass it up, I mean even from first glance you can tell it’s pretty funky.
We arrived and straight away Aidan was in his element. We got to meet the lovely team behind the brand and I kind of fell for them a little more than I thought I would. You know when you meet people and you just click? Yeah, that. The clothes were smart, soft, on-trend and best of all Aidan liked them. I was also pleased by the price point (similar to Cotton On and Charlie & Me Kids) and I can’t wait until the online store opens.
Aidan loves colour, patterns and sparkle just as much as his Mumma. To see him flip through the racks with just as much flourish as me was pretty awesome. He knows that each piece of clothing costs money and to get money you have to work (meaning more time away from him) so he’s not a diva when it comes to shopping and doesn’t throw a tantrum if I can’t afford/justify something he wants. I’ve also taught him to read sizes and prices and we’re working on discounts… it’s maths but just a bit more fabulous.
Aidan was gifted a beautiful little outfit on the day and was asked if he’d like his photo taken… “Of course!!!” was his response. My little dude rocked his catalogue poses like nobodies business, he was in his element! Nothing was expected of him, just a little fun in a photo booth but he was acting like he was on the set of GQ, it was hilarious and so much fun. The shirt is so so soft, softer than any dressy shirt he’s ever owned. The shorts are the same, perfect fit and we love the bold colour. Steve’s even sold so that’s saying something.
They also sell a range of fun costumes for boys and girls, I wasn’t the only one digging the super hero outfit I can tell you. Bold red and gold foil star pants, can I get them in my size?? As soon as Aidan saw them it didn’t take long for him to convince the team that he should take the cape and mask for a test fly…
It was a wonderful morning and Aidan’s been telling everyone about his day in the city with “The Kids” ever since, we’ve even been reading their adventure stories as I adore their messages. As soon as the online store opens I’ll let you know on facebook but for now our nearest store is in Merrylands and I think we might have to check it out so Santa can stash a few things away for Christmas.
