The lovely Sunny offered to arrange a Christmas dinner and drinks meet up for the Sydney Aussie Curve ladies, I was so excited about just attending an event without having to do any of the planning. There have been a few events thrown in Melbourne and Brisbane too and I hope more cities and towns get in on the action. All the events are organised through the private Aussie Curves facebook group, you just have to request to join then once accepted, check out the events page.
We were headed to Bondi Pizza in Parramatta. The weather was absolutely miserable so finding the right outfit proved to be a bit difficult. I knew I wanted something colourful, something comfortable and something that kept the chill off… I think I ticked all the boxes. I’d been waiting for just the right occasion to wear my new secondhand print dress that I bought off Nerida at the plus size markets several weeks ago. It’s so easy to wear and really stretchy, I was comfortable all night.
I decided on a bold pink lip, my new pink stud earrings and my pink patent bag to be my feature colour. Really any colour would have worked with a dress like this, the print is crazy fun. Jewellery wasn’t really needed, my pink heart earrings matched the pink hearts on the dress so that was enough for me. I kept the shoes simple with flats because really, who has time for heels in the rain?

It was so much fun getting ready for the event with my sister Stephanie, she even did my hair for me! We’d gone to the shops that afternoon to find her something to wear and came across this pretty little number (and earrings) that matched her hair perfectly. I usually have to get ready and go to these things alone so it was really nice. I was glad she got to meet some of my friends and the people she talks to online.

It was a really fun night with lots of yummy food, delicious cocktails and a lot of laughs. A big thanks to Sunny for organising it. I know it might seem a little intimidating to meet people you’ve only talked to online but if you have the opportunity or the desire to host an event please do, otherwise you’ll never get to know all the awesome friends you’ve yet to meet!
