I’ve never really worn yellow and during the last yellow challenge I struggled, coming up with only accessories to add flair. This time things are totally different. Over the past couple of months that I’ve been blonde I’ve been experimenting with colour a lot and it would seem yellow is one of my new favourites.
The dress is a new purchase from ModCloth and I love it’s name “Cumin Kindness”. It’s such a gentle dress, so soft and flowing. In fact when I stepped out of the car in Manly yesterday a big gust of wind had me sporting a Marilyn Monroe pose! Some might think the length is a little too short for my “chunky knees” but I couldn’t care less, I felt chic and flirty by the seaside and I had no problems strutting down the street for my lunch meeting.
That was partly due to my new favourite shoes. Originally they were $40 but on the day I bought them they scanned up at $25, total bargain. I’m already regretting that I didn’t buy the tan pair as well. They’re thick chunky heels but so light and the straps don’t rub or hurt my feet. I have a wide foot and I find it very difficult to buy shoes off the shelf in Australia but these are perfect.
Yesterday was a big day, it was one of the first steps in my new direction. I just put it all out there and waited to see if the universe responded… and it did. Sometimes you have to be brave, to go outside your comfort zone, to try something new. Change can be difficult, stressful and leave you feeling anxious but I’ve found it to be true in my life that the little voice is never really wrong. Follow your instincts, try new things and leave yourself open to change, it’s not as scary as you allow yourself to think it will be.
