Sometimes there is just no point in faking a smile. My expression reflects exactly how I was feeling today and that feeling was “meh”. I had stuff to do so I did it. I did my accounting which was like pulling out fingernails in slow motion. I tidied the house and ran a few errands. It just really was a blergh kind of Sunday. I’ve been falling behind with my challenge posts but not any more. This week’s theme is Headwear which is kind of exciting because there are so many ways that this could be interpreted.
I chose the most obvious trend of the moment, the flower crown but I decided to go a step further and try a frigging gigantic enormous one! Originally I bought it as a back up for the Hawkesbury Ladies Day Races I attended last month and I planned to cut the flowers off and arrange them differently. My custom fascinator arrived in time so I didn’t have to… leaving me with something a little fabulous to play with this week.
The dress feels more like pyjamas if I’m honest and it’s brutally short at the back but I do adore the print and colours, the fact that it matches the flower crown makes it even more awesome. I’m sure in autumn/winter I could get away with wearing this dress out with stockings or tights but right now it’s a house dress… a very pretty house dress. So now you can just imagine me hanging out the laundry, soaking up the sunshine and rocking a flower crown like a boss.
