A lot of you are sick of this wall. I totally get it. We rent the house we live in so as far as making changes we can mulch and occasionally weed but that’s about it. AS you can see I’m totally awesome at that. Plants only go into that skinny full sun garden bed to die and I just can’t sacrifice any more living things for the sake of pretty photos. The light is really good in that spot and it’s easy because it’s right out the front of my door so no dashing around town with the baby in the backseat crying out that he’s bored. That said, I’m so over the beige.

My skin is beige, my hair is beige and today even my outfit is beige! Don’t get me wrong, I love every inch of this outfit. It’s one of my current favourites and it’s very rare for me to wear exactly the same thing over and over again without altering it in some way. It’s just a shame the background is so crappy. I’d love to build up a local catalogue of pretty walls and natural backdrops (man, I’m so lame) but for that I’d need to cart around a tripod and if I’m honest, my photos are better when I have a person behind the lens.

I’d love to have someone come to my house for two hours a week to snap all my pictures. To fill the car with a week’s worth of outfits and drive about town finding cool locations and then grab dinner afterwards. It’s a pipe dream but it could happen right? In the meantime my sister has been trying to come up with new ways to take my outfit photos, to streamline the process so I can share more. It makes sense because she’s the president of the “We Hate The Beige Wall Club”. We’re tweaking things but hopefully we’ll figure it out over the holidays.

Beige be gone!

Lol, I know what you mean! I take many pictures of fabric and sewing projects and got so bored with my white table but had nothing else other than a (dusty) wood floor or the couch, bleugh. But we recently rearranged slightly and now I have a dark table in a fabulous spot for light to have a play with for a change!

Haha I love it. That is a pretty dress. But yes a lot of beige.
I totally hear you. It’s so hard to take photos out of home and with a tripod. Hence why I hardly take photos.

One day you could invest in a green screen and have as many backgrounds as you like. ;)

Why don’t you buy some fabric and just gaffa tape it to the wall while you’re doing photos? As long as the tape and edges of the fabric are out of shot, you’ll have a lovely background that you can take with you wherever you like! This dress is so pretty, I’d love to see it against a background that would make it and you and your beautiful alabaster skin pop! xx

I can tell you one thing you could easily put in that garden bed which would thrive with only a small amount of watering, the full sun wouldn’t bother it and with the amount of different colours it comes in, it would pop against that wall – Bougainvillea. A beautiful pink flowering variety would just pop against that wall. You can buy them for around $16 a plant from Bunnings and the like, pop some trellis up against the wall so it has something to cling to/be tied to as it grows and beige wall GONE ;)

Oh, I hear you! It would be nice to have someone just to be able to take photos for me! My photos are always the backyard, or the backyard! Loving that dress though!
