The party season has been in full swing and whilst I love socialising, drinking and eating delicious things, planning my outfits and getting dolled up is still one of my favourite parts. Last week I had the Preschool Committee and Staff Christmas Party to attend and since they usually see me half asleep in my gym gear I thought I’d go all out.
It was the first chance I’d had to wear my beautiful “Stella” silk printed dress and “Becca” slip, both gifts from Australian designers Gabi & Miriam of Madeleine Charles. I’d never heard of the label before the gifts had arrived so you can imagine how giddy I felt unwrapping the tissue paper and thick satin ribbons, it was like Christmas had come early, a total surprise!
I wore my favourite sandals, playing off the nude tones through the print and kept my bag neutral as well. Subtle gold highlights on all my accessories added a touch of shimmer to the outfit and my blue and gold heart studs added some whimsy. Finished with a coral lip and a quick up-do and I was off. When I stepped outside, the silk was so gorgeously soft that when a breeze blew by it kind of felt like I was naked. It felt so natural yet so luxurious all at once. Why don’t I own more silk pieces???
It was a balmy evening spent alongside the green at the Lynwood Golf Club, a really nice venue only 10 minutes drive from home and I’d never been there before. The food was amazing, gigantic Surf & Turf cooked to perfection for $30 and delicious Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée for $10. The best part was the large patio that overlooked the green. The sunset that night was amazing and cast the most beautiful pink hues over the hills and sky. It was a great night and a real treat for all the hard work put into Aidan’s Preschool by the team.
Oh did I mention… it also has pockets!!!
