I’m a huge fan of the frock. It wasn’t always like that though, I lived in black pants, dark jeans and black leggings. In other words I was basically trying to pretend that my ass and thighs didn’t exist and followed the old school rule of hiding them, of “slimming” them. Obviously my ass and thighs are, in fact quite glorious (because they’re mine) and I could dress the lower half of my body any way I pleased.
Suddenly top and pant combos went out the window and I was embracing dresses. At first I wore them only with shapewear because I was extremely conscious of how my body looked without it’s usual lashings of black to “hide” the lumps and bumps. Then I discovered 3B Cream and suddenly I was all like…
I’d slip on a pair of seam free knickers, apply some cream and I was off… free as a bird. It was truly a revelation, changed my life and helped me to really discover my own style. That might sound like a lot of pressure to put on a cream but that’s what it did for me. I never really liked pants but I wore them because they were convenient, I know you’ve all been there. I used to dread summer and my legs never saw the sun, now I’m the complete opposite and I couldn’t be happier.
Now we’re headed towards AW14 and I’m digging my heels in as long as I can. Plus size retailers just seem to make this season so dreary and dark so I’ve been stock piling pretty colourful pieces that I can transform into winter looks but more on that in another post. What I wanted to show you now were ten beautiful dresses, across two different colour palettes, that I would gladly welcome into my wardrobe with open arms.
