I’m back baby!
March and September are my busiest months of the year and the past few weeks kicked my ass with both awesomeness and crap I don’t want to talk about just yet. It’s pretty poor form when the founder of Aussie Curves can’t even manage to pull an outfit post together but you know what, who cares? There are so many inspiring ladies within the challenge now and I’ve always said you don’t have to participate every week, just when you can. I couldn’t, I was tapped out and just not feeling it… but today, an hour before the sun went down I suddenly felt inspired.
My Hipster Checklist
- Florals, check!
- Chunky knit cardigan, check!
- Messy up-do, check!
- Glasses that I don’t really need, check!
- Vintage inspired accessories, check!
- Eyeliner, check!
Once I got outside and Steve started taking pictures it all flooded back, I’d forgotten how much fun it was! I chose my new favourite casual dress, my unworn boots that I’ve been dying to wear and my “I-can’t-bear-to-ever-part-with-it” knit that I’ve had forever.
Sure, the bag and belt don’t match the boots but who cares? Aren’t hipsters meant to “… reject the culturally-ignorant attitudes of mainstream consumers…” and do whatever they choose? Colour coordinating is a choice people, not doing so is actually kind of liberating!
“hmm… I should make a mini video to go with the post, that would be awesome!”
Song: “Falling in Love” by Us
I simply filmed this on my iPhone but in future I’ll most likely use my proper camera to do the job. It’s just an idea I’m playing with, I’m not sure I’m 100% committed to it yet, I wanted to see what you thought. Maybe it’s over kill, maybe it’s awesome, maybe it should just be on instagram… I don’t know, you tell me!
