My Life
Hello… you must be new (or just really nosy) but that’s ok, it’s what it’s all about and as far as I’m concerned it’s the best thing about blogging. I’ve been blogging for since 2006 and have really gotten into a rhythm posting daily. What do I blog about? Oh, the usual everyday and mundane kind of stuff: what I bought at the op shop this week, sharing outfit photos from the one day that week that I decided to ditch the PJs, oh and my gorgeous little family of course! The content on my blog evolves as I do and personally, that’s the way I think it should be. I was asked to describe what genre my blog fit in to and the only answer I could give them was… vanity.
My name is Danielle (AKA: Danimezza) I’m 26 and I’m a freelance photographer, writer and fashion enthusiast. I have one sister named Stephanie and my parents are married and still in love. My dad gave my first camera when I was 12 and that’s when my love affair with the camera started. I took photos of all my friends and stuck them to the walls of my room with blutac. I studied photography with my bff and we ran a photography business together, not to mention creating a dark room from scratch. I won statewide awards and held an solo exhibition that was opened by the Mayor. After high school I lost confidence in pursuing my dream and worked in retail. I even managed Adult shops for awhile and I was pretty good at it too. I never gave up on my dream of being a photographer, I knew it would happen someday… I just had to go through a few other things first.
I met my husband Steve when I was 17 and fresh out of high school, he was 23. His roommate invited me to his housewarming where I met Steve… and never really left. We got married in March 2007 and I planned, decorated and coordinated everything myself. It was the most wonderful wedding, not a dry eye in the house and the best part is I still feel blissfully in love, not all day, but everyday. We have two dogs, Toby & Charlie a handsome pair of black Labradors that we rescued because they captured our hearts. We battled infertility for almost five years before I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. A surgery and countless hormone pills later I fell pregnant with Aidan… and didn’t realise until I was 14 weeks! He was born in August 2009 and he is my joy, Steve is best friend and my family is my life.
I adore vintage finds, especially brooches, childrens books and cut crystal bowls. I only own five pairs of shoes but I wish I owned more, damn my wide size 10 feet! For years I only wore jeans or pants but now I love nothing more than slipping a frock on and working bold prints and colours. I have really big boobs… but that’s ok because I have a really big bum to match. I have a beautiful blue retro bike and I never ride it. I’m a firm believer that lip stain and mascara can change your whole look and attitude in less than a minute. I like alternative music that is heavy on gorgeous lyrics and soothing to listen to, it’s my therapy. I really, really love Betty Crocker Devil’s Food Cake cake mix, it never fails to disappoint. My phone bill on the other hand… always does.
If you want to know more about me and have several weeks with nothing to do, then feel free to read right back to the beginning… go on, I dare you! If you happen to be time poor like me, just start checking in everyday to see what I’m up to. I invented a fun weekly fashion game called “Polly Dolly”, you should play along but I warn you, it’s a little addictive. You can find me on Twitter as well as Facebook for daily updates and extra jibber-jabber, oh and not to mention giveaways… I love doing giveaways. So there you go, email me if you have something specific to ask and please, please don’t be afraid to comment, they make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
