Why is your blog called “Danimezza”?

My husband’s last name is “Melnyczenko” (Mel-ney-zen-ko) but growing up his nickname has always been “Mezza” or “Mez”. When we got engaged his friends started calling me “Mrs Mezza” and I hated it so I made up my own nickname blending “Dani” and “Mezza” into “Danimezza” and it’s just stuck. One day I decided to rename my blog which was “Danielle & Steve” (very original) to something more me, something unique, something sexy and “Danimezza” fit perfectly.

Who are the members of your family?

• Steve, the ever dependable hunky husband
• Danielle, the sexy wife and clever mother
• Aidan, the adorable and super smart toddler

Why don’t you blog about Aidan much anymore?

For privacy and besides, this blog is about me. I wrote about him a lot when he was younger, he did a lot of the same things most babies do but then after his first birthday he really began to come into his own and started developing his personality in a big way. To me personally it felt like I was invading his privacy by sharing too much too often. His world will be dominated by the internet when he’s older and I just try to be mindful of how he would feel if his future boss googled him during an job interview.

Why don’t you do more DIY stuff?

I started blogging when Steve and I were engaged and about to be married. We didn’t have much money and we were just starting to make our home so we had to be resourceful. We rented (and still do) and overtime we’ve found less is more. As much as I’d like to buy endless pieces of furniture to revamp we just don’t have the space to warrant anymore purchases. Eventually we will move but for right now don’t expect too much.

Why are you so commercial now?

I blog fulltime. I have expenses. I like to think the heart of my blog has remained.

Not at this stage, I’m taking a break as 2011 was full on, wonderful and crazy.

Will you be doing more outfit photos?

I’m attempting to do them once a week. I blog full time so my budget for new clothes is almost nil. I’ll try my best but that’s all any one person can do, am I right?
