Aussie Curves – Double Denim

denim 1

Wearing double denim does not come naturally to me as you can see in this photo, it was the first one I'd taken and I'm clearly nervous. I needed to step out of my head, away from the mirror and see myself as the world saw me to see if it "worked". That's the thing about these outfit challenges, we're used to dressing ourselves everyday, we know what we like and what we think makes us look our best. Every week there is a theme, an opportunity to push ourselves beyond what we know, what we ... [ Discover More ]

Bissell Vac & Steam Giveaway

CONGRATULATIONS - PippaJ I've been blogging for awhile now, over 9 years in fact. Every time I think about all the stories I've shared, all the awesome memorable opportunities and people I've met, I'm left kind of speechless. I considered writing a deep post about all the things I've learnt in my blogging career (which started before blogging could even really be considered a career) but I thought, nah... let's have a party! I rallied up a few of my favourite brands, told them I'd waive my ... [ Discover More ]

Aussie Curves – Wedding Guest

danimezza aussie curves plus size fashion ootd igigi wedding guest blue dominique-3

I've attended a just a handful of weddings in my life, not as many as I would have liked. The ones I did witness were humble, poetic, crafty, vulnerable, sweet occasions that really make you stop, think and be grateful for all the joy, love and friendship in our lives. It's just a shame that not everyone gets the chance to share their love in this manner but we're here to talk dresses not politics... I was sent this "Alex" dress by IGIGI and it's just magical, the perfect slip-on-and-go ... [ Discover More ]

Aussie Curves – Best Bargain

danimezza aussie curves plus size fashion ootd vintage dress-8

I've had some brilliant bargains in my time but of all the current ones this dress takes the cake. My favourite local op shop doesn't normally stock plus size clothing or if it does it moves swiftly. I wandered in one day looking for nothing in particular and the print instantly grabbed me. The prettiest pastel shades of blue, pink, purple and taupe on a background of white without a single stain or tear. The label looks as if it was made in the late 60's or 70's with the original patent belt ... [ Discover More ]

Steve and I met on the 21st of March 2003 when I was just 17 and he was 23. We married on the 24th of March 2007 surrounded by less than fifty family and friends at the Sebel Resort in the Hawkesbury. For twelve years I've loved a man who is not only my best friend but my partner, my husband of eight years. When young people fall in love and get married most assume it wont last. Sure love can change with the years, it can falter but it can also lift you higher. I rarely talk about my ... [ Discover More ]

Aussie Curves – Style Inspiration

If you haven't seen Hart of Dixie yet I recommend you binge-watch the first three seasons and play catch up on the fourth season which is currently airing in the USA. I wasn't expecting to adore it as much as I do but it sucked me in with it's southern charm, quirky fashion and loveable characters. I love Lemon's hair styles, smart tailoring and finesse for sheer clothing but at the same time I go giddy for Annabeth's statement necklaces, her bold colour choices and knack for fun patterns. ... 60 Things I Adore

This post is sponsored by Active Skin I'm lucky enough to get the opportunity to try some pretty cool things (across all budgets) and this year was no exception so I thought I'd share with you a pretty intense list of things that I adore. Seriously, it took days and many edits to come up with this list and I could have added more. Some I've discovered and bought myself, others have been gifted by brands (and bought again myself) and there are also things I aspire to own... enjoy! The ... [ Discover More ]

Aussie Curves – Favourite Colour

Danimezza Aussie Curves Plus Size Fashion Blogger Sydney Australia Robyn Lawley Swimwear 2014 FAVOURITE COLOUR-7

You know me, I love my swimwear. If I could wear it all year round, chasing the summer season across the globe I'd be a very happy Danielle. Just like I was when I received two pieces from the current SS14 Robyn Lawley Swimwear Collection, a lovely surprise gift that I couldn't wait to get on. They got my colours spot on, fresh mint/aqua and a sprinkle of pixelated rainbows finished with rose gold hardware. I'll admit, it's felt weird the last few months, like something was missing. From June ... [ Discover More ]

Sponsored by Ford Australia for Kidspot Voices 2014 I loved my job, that I could proudly call myself a full time blogger. My blog was a hobby that blossomed into a business, an exciting adventurous dream of a business that suited the very core of my personality. Without it I would not be the person I am today. A person capable of honest and raw self reflection with the ability to remain strong and impenetrable and yet at the same time completely vulnerable. To speak to hundreds of thousands ... Did you know SS14/15 is on the horizon and that means the annual "Body Issue" magazines will be making their way to shelves. Some covers slamming celebs for the flip from "fab to flab" and others celebrating the diversity of race, size and age. Morning television shows will be inundated with "body experts", health advisors, diet gurus, swimwear models and of course there will be controversy over runway models. It's the same thing... every... single... year. In the end it's about selling the ... [ Discover More ]

I'm so glad that I decided to follow my instincts because you guys loved the last post that featured my sister Stephanie wearing Jeanswest. I got so many emails and comments from readers who've never commented before because they felt like I was listening to their needs too. These posts wont happen as often as I'd like due to Stephanie living in Tasmania but when she does come to visit I'm sure I can twist her arm to pose for some photos. These are the exact same Jeanswest "Curve Embracer" ... [ Discover More ]

When I was invited by boohoo to catch up with Donny and talk fashion, style and the label's latest offerings I couldn't refuse! You might remember our last collaboration but since then we've run into each other a lot on the Sydney fashion circuit. A car came and picked me up to take me to the city, it's always such a treat! I used the time to put my face on and answer emails, messages and ... [ Discover More ]

Bridal Lingerie Editorial

Bridal Lingerie Plus Model Magazine Danimezza March 2014-12

In February I was sent an editorial outline for Plus Model Magazine containing my schedule of content for this year, it was exciting! What excited me even more than my agreed contribution was the gaps open for editorial consideration. Opportunity is golden and I grasped it with both hands. The first opening was in the April Bridal Issue so taking into account deadlines I had to organise, shoot, edit and submit within less than two weeks. I don't have a local established team of creatives that I ... [ Discover More ]

I'm chronically 15 minutes late, ask anyone who knows me. I never intend to be, I just have trouble prioritising and as an added bonus I feel like I have the capacity to do ALL THE THINGS all at once... it drives Steve up the wall. Time just never seems to be on my side and my day-to-day outfits usually reflect that. It needs to be an effortless, simple outfit to get me out the door on time. For a fancy event I'll usually allocate half a day in order to get ready and arrive in the city on time, ... [ Discover More ]

All this week designers are showcasing their collections at #MBFWA and I'll be following the action from home this year. I couldn't miss it completely so I'll be live streaming the shows and stalking instagram for all the best shots. I understand a lot of Aussie Curve women aren't attracted to fashion week as we're undoubtably excluded as far as actually being able to buy and wear pieces but I personally find the whole experience thrilling. I also wanted to show you how I see trends on the ... [ Discover More ]

The last six months have been intense personally, along side of that Aussie Curves has exploded into the community I had always dreamed it would be. Everyday hundreds of people apply to join the private facebook group and there are thousands upon thousands of instagrams using the hashtag #AussieCurves to connect and inspire. I was asked over the weekend how I felt about AC and all I could say was... I'm blown away. I always knew that with positive intention and peer support the community would ... [ Discover More ]

In the name of multitasking I present my second look photographed on the same day... and yes it did involve a quick outfit change in a public park because I'm a risky dare devil like that. I'm also a bit of a cheater, the dress isn't secondhand but the handbag is, that totally counts right? After the epic wardrobe clear out of January 2014 I found myself with no secondhand garments so I went to my ever faithful stash of Glomesh to bring an outfit to life and make the cut. You've got to admit, ... [ Discover More ]

I'm so hot. Let's just take a second to soak up all my hotness. Ok, you're done? Already? Well I guess I should explain why I have all this muck on my face. For the past eight weeks I've been trialling GLAMGLOW® SuperMud™. I'd seen plenty of reviews online but they all seemed to be "First Time Experience" posts and videos, a reaction from the immediate results. They all glowed, they all raved and they all said it was worth the money. I wasn't convinced. I've tried beautiful masks, high end, ... [ Discover More ]

You should all know by now how much I love Benefit Costmetics. They're a girls-girl beauty brand that doesn't follow fashion trends or focus on artistry, instead concentrates on solving the problems women face. I like that. I like that their products do what they promise in an easy to understand way, I'm sure its one of the many reasons why so many of my readers have jumped on the bandwagon too. I don't back a product unless I love it, you guys know that. The brand ethos is so in sync with my ... [ Discover More ]

After the Christmas holiday break with my family in Port Stephens I was really unhappy. I missed the togetherness, the seaside living and weirdly enough, the disconnect. I left my laptop at home for over a week, barely used my phone (except to take pics) and put my email in vacation mode. That might not sound like a big sacrifice to most but for me it was like going completely off the grid... and I liked it. I liked it so much that after we got home a week later Aidan and I left Steve at home to ... [ Discover More ]

I also have it in pink, you might remember it from my time in New York. It's still one of my favourite outfits so you know how it goes... buy it in every colour! Last Friday night I went out dancing at my local nightclub... I know, who am I? I'd never been there before and beside the odd blogging conference I hadn't been "out-out" in years. I get the most amazing opportunities to go to awesome places, drink incredible concoctions, wear fun outfits but at the end of the day I'm still "working" and have to have some resemblance of my "game face" at the end of the night. I can never truly just let loose in those situations but when I'm chilling out with ... [ Discover More ]

I've never really worn yellow and during the last yellow challenge I struggled, coming up with only accessories to add flair. This time things are totally different. Over the past couple of months that I've been blonde I've been experimenting with colour a lot and it would seem yellow is one of my new favourites. The dress is a new purchase from ModCloth and I love it's name "Cumin Kindness". It's such a gentle dress, so soft and flowing. In fact when I stepped out of the car in Manly ... [ Discover More ]
